Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Thanks for posting that - I've now moved it here in the 'How To' section for you.

I guess it's because not everyone wants to change those bulbs. I did most of the interior ones too, but didn't find the vanity mirror ones a priority.

That was my first approach, I really didn't want to pry anything more than the diffusers. Unfortunately the bulbs are in there surprisingly snugly. I had to apply a surprising amount of force from the back with the spudger. You definitely can't do it with fingers. I didn't think of blue tack, but I'm not sure it'll work. As I've mentioned in precious threads, the 40A maxi fuse had blown on my X7. After I replaced it the car seemed to behave itself for a few weeks. Alas yesterday it blew again so I had to take action.

With a thin, blunt knife lift the centre of the surround until the tag clears the base

then gently ease the whole surround forward and clear.

Using a torx 15 remove the twos screws and lift the display clear, release the lock on the plug and remove the plug.

Thank you! I just changed mine. For the cigarette lighter, that one is not easy. It's a maroon socket that is pretty hard to detach and you run the risk of breaking it if it's cold. This one is from my small mod to add a secondary, surface mounted socket so I can use my large phone charger in the front.

Sadly, no ... It's a 2.2hdi auto and most other parts are good but the DPF pump are tank are shot and can't get good ones anywhere, which is why I'm breaking it. Alternator, disks, tyres all excellent.
Incidentally, forgot to say that I drilled the hole as, apparently, the window has failed twice in the past so it's an in-case-it happens-again fix.

If you own a 2008 onwards C5, then sooner or later the window winder / regulator mechanism will break and need to be replaced. Normally the cables in the mechanism rust through and prevent the window from opening or closing. As a short term fix, it should be possible to lift the glass by hand and tape it into the closed position.

Might be worth adding that it's a good idea when attaching the glass screws, to not tighten then fully up straight away.

Leave a bit of movement in them, then run the window up and down a few times to make sure it's in the right position. Then tighten the screws up.

Hi Sorry can't tell you the service times for Cam-Belt changing but, typically most car manufacturers give mileage & time contraints, so even if you can has not achieved the mileage typically I would replace a belt at least once in 10 years -could be expensive if you don't.

407 Coupé 3.0 HDi Air Con Condenser Change

Ever since I've had the 407 Coupe the air con hasn't worked on it. When I tried to get it gassed it appeared to be pressure tight and took all of the gas without any problems. When the car was started and the compressor kicked in though all hell broke loose and it looked as if there was smoke coming from under the bonnet!

2. Open the door, remove the rubber cap covering the torx screw (T20)

Evening All, my 99 Xantia saloon has succumbed to the failed upper engine mount bush/torque arm bush, part no 1839 46. As I suspect most of you already know, this results in the bush disintegrating in the triangular mount. Lexia 3 rev b rewire green plug

Hi all does any one have wiring diagram for male socket on Lexia 3 rev b cable that goes to car diagnostics socket. When I last used mine it pulled off when I was removing cable from test socket on car. I know this is a long shot but thought someone on here may know.

Hi, after three days of trying I finally got v7.01 loaded, but when I restart Diagbox, the upgrade to v7.02 fails. Does anyone have any ideas on this?
