Replacing bulbs in C5 centre screen.

With a thin, blunt knife lift the centre of the surround until the tag clears the base

then gently ease the whole surround forward and clear.

Using a torx 15 remove the twos screws and lift the display clear, release the lock on the plug and remove the plug.

On the back of the unit are three bulb holders, twist to remove then replace the blown bulbs.

I don't suppose you know how to change the light bulb for the ashtray, Steve? Although I don't smoke I sometimes use it for little bits 'n' bobs, and it would be nice to see in there without having to use a torch.

Didn't know there was one James. I keep spare change in mine.
Been wondering lately if there should be one for the fag lighter socket too - not that I use that either, other than recently for a voltmeter/thermometer/USB socket.

Yes, there is a light on the cigarette lighter. You will need to unclip the gear lever surround (and not just the leatherette sleeving) to get good enough access to the light bulb fitting (you can guess how I learned this). It is a normal capless bulb.

I'll have a squizz at that (one day)
Hopefully the same bulbs as the ones above as I have just bought another dozen.

I'm more interested in a bit of underdash/underseat lighting and will get on with it within the next few years.

Thank you! I just changed mine. For the cigarette lighter, that one is not easy. It's a maroon socket that is pretty hard to detach and you run the risk of breaking it if it's cold. This one is from my small mod to add a secondary, surface mounted socket so I can use my large phone charger in the front.
