I've just taken the thermostat off of my mk1 clio (phase 3) and need to replace it.

However I can't get it out of the housing and someone has said it's all one unit. Is this right? It would make sense as I've tried nearly everything and it won't budge!!!

I have a 53 plate Laguna and the Lock button is unresponsive on both key cards. The Unlock works fine.

This means I have to lock the car from the inside.

Is this a known problem with the keys?

A few days ago my drivers door central locking motor was making a wierd noise when locking and unlocking - a more louder and high pitched noise than normal.

Today it isn't locking the door - it still makes a noise but more of a whiney sound.

Going to take it off this evening if possible to have a look.

I recently bought a 3 yr old clio ( 1.5 dci ), according to my handbook the button on the end of the wiper stick is supposed to alternate the trip mileage between mpg ,av speed ,total cons etc , However nothing happens the display just stays on the trip mileage . Is this correct or is there a fault somewhere ?.

I have a 1999 Laguna and I have replaced both headlamps but now I need to set up the adjuster motors. The Haynes manual quotes a dimension on the motor ball joint but it doesn't state what the measurement is supposed to be. Does anyone know how to set these up?

I want to check the brake shoes on my 1998 Megane. The Haynes manual says that I need to remove the hub nuts to do this, and that I should use a new hub nut on refitting. Is it necessary to use a new hub nut? If so where would be the best place to obtain one? Thanks

Hi, just purchased a 98 megane 1.6 16v cabriolet. Upon driving it down the motorway as soon as i hit 70-80 mph it lost power, and even If i put my foot to the floor, it went down to about 2500 revs before it picked up again. I notice now that i can't get above 4000 revs in any gear, feels 'blocked' even that explains it.

This may sound like an ad but honestly it's not. After going to my Local halfords for a number of years for various obscure parts for my belegured french cars about 8 months ago they offered me a trade card.

Halfords critera is that you need to be an engineer who works cars, not a business or mechanic!
