My speed dial in my car is going ape!! I assumed that the cable had snapped but have been told that the guage is actually electrical. Does anybody know anything about this? Do I just need to take it to my usual garage to deal with or do I need a specialist? And does anyone have any idea as to the costs? I dont drive fast (much) so if its mega mega dear, I might leave it alone.

Sorry. I always assume everyone knows what I am on about!! Its a renault megane coupe, 1999. And it looks just like a compass when its placed near a magnet!! It just goes up and down the numbers regardless as to how fast I am going!
