Laguna engine choked
2002 Laguna 1.9 dci.. Pulling a caravan when had complete loss of power, engine stopped. ( some smoke from exhaust, glow plug light on ). Car was taken to garage where diagnostic m/c showed faulty MAF meter. This was changed and car started... until i tried to move it.. then stopped !.. Now when attempting to start, engine will struggle and cut out after approx 10 sec, as if starved of fuel. Timing has been checked along with other small valves and meters.... but no luck. The engine is not exhausting through exhaust, but coming back through the air intake manifold, and therefore not drawing in any air !!! Any ideas ???

I would guess that it's a problem with the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve. These are prone to problems on this engine.
