Due to excessive server loading caused by some badly behaved 'bots' (automated content collectors), I have changed the anti-ddos settings on the site to be much more aggressive.

This has had the desired effect of reducing the server loading from 100% to about 10% (the other 90% was coming from just 8 IP addresses located in China).

Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

The Xantia was not that old at the time so had to buy a new battery contact lug with screw fittings to clamp the wire.

Two years ago I was forced to change rear hydraulic pipes on my ’09 x7 2.2HDi cause one of them leaks. Whereas the pipes was unavailable to buy here I decided to create substitute from original. I'm finding it very difficult to find a second hand steering rack for my C4 VTS.

According to Servicebox the part number for the rack assembly for my car's VIN number is 4000 ZV (or the replacement p/n 16 179 341 80 or the exchange p/n 16 636 523 80)

I then looked through servicebox for every mk1 RHD C4, they all seem to use the same part...

IIRC it looked easier to find a left hand drive rack which I assume is what you're in need of? Right hand drive C4 VTS racks seem to be very rare.

I have a 2007 mk1 facelifted C5 VTX+ which never came with parking sensors. I found an exclusive in my local scrapyard and managed to get it's bumpers with parking sensors, and the ECU that sits in the spare wheel well, as well as the control panel with the parking sensor on/off button.

I just put a new window mechanism in my x7.

Reset the anti pinch. But, the window only goes up after it has gone down.

If i open the window a small amount and then try to close it, it will open to halfway. Try again at halfway and it opens fully.

When it's open fully I can close it like normal.

I assume it's something to do with the anti...

I have a problem with the suspension on my C5 X7 2,0 aut. I have changed the 2 front spheres but it's still very hard as if its constantly in SPORT mode. I have checked the fuses and they are fine. Can it be an electric fault? It is only hard in the front and normal in the rear.

The suspension is definitely softer compared to the German and Japanese family cars but not as close as I was expecting to the traditional Citroen feeling (even the X7 with 19 wheels felt softer). No electric seats (think that's a rarity in the eC4 world) but otherwise equipment more than enough (Shine Plus).

I have recently got a little niggle with my Xantia 1.9TD.
When starting from cold It needs a few more cranks than usual. Also runs a bit rough for about 15 seconds.

The third symptom is that it also makes a ticking noise, mostly when cold. Sounds a bit like lifter tick or engine knock.

Tired leakoff pipes? try squeezing the primer bulb before attempting the first startup, see if it makes a difference. The needle lift sensor is built into one of the injectors ISTR, one of the simple diagnostics was to disconnect it, they run slightly different if its working.

Tried pre-priming today, couldn't see a difference.
No diesel smell...

C4GP battery drain after battery change

Hi everybody!

I haven't found anything similar to my problem, that's why i started this topic.
So, the car is a 2012 c4 grand picasso 1.6 e-hdi, which has a start stop system.
The old battery is a Varta AGM 70Ah 760CCA battery, which is like the original one accorsing to my findings.

I did some more research and I found the same as you mentioned.
In the meantime I checked the battery state of charge with my launch diag. The maximum state of charge is 85%. When the battery reaches this state, the system will reduce the charging current, or shuts off completely.
It seems it's usual for the modern cars...

C5 X7 Wiper Motor

Can someone help me? Why do I find two part numbers for the same wiper motor - Citroen C5 2010, 1.6 hdi, 82kw (LHD)?
For exemple:
- left (driver side) wiper: 9682755580 (53569612) and 9683767280 (53571012)?
They look alike.
Are the same parts? Is there something different?

Problem solved. Thanks for help.
Even if I thought that is the master wiper motor, it was the other one, the passenger's one. I found maybe 4-5 cm of rotten leaves and dirt. In that was the wiper motor sitting.

I'm wanting to set the timing on my DW12TED4 engine and I'm having trouble finding the hole to pin the flywheel. This engine doesn't have it near the starter. I've seen pix of where it is near the drive shaft but I still can't see it!

Got an oil smell coming from ac as well as some smoke from the ac earlier today, that only happens when stationary. Small oil leak came up on my MOT a couple months ago and last 2 months been having to top up engine oil every 3 weeks but been told they tend to burn oil anyway.

I'm being told that instead of it being a worn inner tire rod on the left hand side, it is the full rack needing repaired/replaced.

Hi, I wonder if I could seek advice on a de-pollution problem with my 2007 C5 1.6 HDi. It is in limp mode and has the following issues logged when connected to diagnostics.
Short circuit to earth of the additive pump power stage.

Could also be separate faults. Turbo electrovlve is a pretty common issue on ye olde 1.6 HDI 16V.
It sits on the back right corner of the engine

So it's time for a new research to keep me busy with my C5X7 tourer....

After solving A/C (condenser fan) problem, rear passenger door hinge replacement, my citron gave me a new reason for headache. Rear wiper and washing for boot glass starts to spray and wipe on it's own, without being triggered by me. Any ideas where to start searching...

Whilst checking Fred over I found LHM leaks again. 1 at the rear, possibly the height corrector (changed it for a secondhand one last year), and 1 from from the pipe that goes from LHM tank to pump (couple of years old and made of horrible metal weaved-covered pipe). Shouldn't be too much trouble, except I lent on the coolant 3 way pipe/ pressure...
