Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Two years ago I was forced to change rear hydraulic pipes on my ’09 x7 2.2HDi cause one of them leaks. Whereas the pipes was unavailable to buy here I decided to create substitute from original. Almost certainly is electrical then however still doesn’t sound like an immo issue.
As i said, treat it like any other starting issue. Are you getting a spark for starters, crank sensors are a relatively common failure on these engines and can be intermittent. When they fail it will cause a no spark & no injector pulse situation.

Ok, not new but regassed. I sent my front corner spheres to Pleiades for recharge and they did a champion job and returned very quickly. Repainted too.

I am delighted with the ride quality now - a new front center sphere and now regassed corner spheres, new rear center pair. If only I could actually remove the rear corner spheres I'd have sent...

For the center sphere on the left side, you have to remove the left drive shaft and the 6mm bolt beneath the subframe with hold the airco tube.
Then with a long chisel you can hammer it loose.
It's not really difficult.

Whilst checking Fred over I found LHM leaks again. 1 at the rear, possibly the height corrector (changed it for a secondhand one last year), and 1 from from the pipe that goes from LHM tank to pump (couple of years old and made of horrible metal weaved-covered pipe). Shouldn't be too much trouble, except I lent on the coolant 3 way pipe/ pressure...

Gwin's battery held a charge long enough to get into town. Got nice new battery. Driver's exterior door handle snapped! Superglue with reinforcing metal strips didn't hold, so have bought new araldite. When did that get so expensive?! Hopefully that will hold, haven't done it yet.

Your title does say 'What to look for?' I'd suggest .. a different car!! In my view having owned 4 C5's you would be much better off seeking out an older MK1 or Mk2 car with sensible mileage and all the kit you may need. For me the steering rack issues alone were enough to stay away from the Mk3 but I also found their seats a trifle...

1 month ago i have regassed 6 spheres on my Citroen C5 X7 Tourer, 2.0 HDI 2012.

On the very first ride i have noticed that the suspension became quite stiff, it wasn't as soft as before.

Thinking that one sphere didn't hold the pressure, today i have rechecked the front ones and the pressure is fine.

Your car has a Lin Bus alternator which has a variable output voltage controlled by the engine ECU.

The amount of charge going into the battery is reduced to save fuel and under normal conditions, the battery is not charged to 100%. Perhaps this is to allow some extra efficiency by putting more charge into the battery while coasting downhill?

Hi, i have a c4 mk2 1.6hdi and have issues with rough idling and struggling to rev over 3k. I have had error codes P1445 and p3007. I have changed the egr valve and have taken off the bottom part of the dpf and gave it a soak with off car dpf cleaner and power washed out, but still these errors persist and is still sluggish, what else could i look...

You may have cleaned the DPF, but unless you have a diagnostic tool like Lexia / Diagbox and told the engine ECU you have replaced the DPF, then this won't make a bit of difference, as it has no way to know you have done this.

That's correct, main dealer diagnostics are about £100-120 an hour. You're supposed to be paying for the training and expertise of the technicians. So unless you can find a specialist that knows what they're doing, then you could end up paying far more than that by the time you've spent a lot on unnecessary parts and gone from garage to garage....

I'm looking for a C5 Tourer and came across one at a very good price the seller informs me that there is a leak on one of the vehicle's rear left hydraulic suspension in the low position - the price is very tempting but what could be the problem? Is it perhaps expensive to repair?

Thanks - I'll never use a main dealer again and as I live in France, access to decent small garages isn't a problem - maybe I'lll have a chat with one of them on Monday and see if they would be interested in the work and then work on really knocking the price down. You have an MC gearbox type, so according to my info it should be:

Quantity of oil to fill after draining: 2,1 ± 0,1 litres.
Quantity of oil to fill after an overhaul: 2,2 ± 0,1 litres.

Oil quality: 75W80.

I don't think you have the correct gearbox in your post above...

I recently started having issues with my 2007 Citroen C4 1.4 16v, and my initial thought is it has something to do with the fuel delivery system, more precisely, a potentially clogged fuel filter.

Main symptoms are:

Losing power when applying throttle (especially on the initial start in first gear, cold engine)
Shaking when under load,...

Before you do any changing of parts, it really needs to be properly diagnosed. Those symptoms can be down to anything air or fuel related, so better to get a diagnostic with Diagbox done first and then put any fault codes up here with your VIN.

Hi I’m not sure if I’m on the right part to ask a question about my Citroen C3. I’m not very good with things online. I have a 2014 Citroen C3. The EML came on 5 weeks ago. The RAC said I needed a new lambda sensor so took to garage and had this done. 2 days later light came on again and RAC said my spark plugs were broke so paid for 3 new ones....

This is a puzzle...it could just be down to a loose electrical connection. If all those parts have been replaced and still not sorted the problem then that's what I'd go with. I would of initially checked the connectors to everything. And do a complete reset of the system. Citroens are known to have funky electrics

I have a problem with a leak of gearbox oil from the driveshaft seal. I need to buy new seals, my confused by which ones I need. Can anyone help provide me with the part numbers and the replacemnt oil required. It's a citroen c4 GP 1.6 diesel semi automatic.

I have looked to see if this question is covered elsewhere, but don't think so? Sorry if being dorf!

On a 2009 Xsara Picasso petrol 1.6 DOHC.

Turn on ignition and even before engine start the car beeps once and the 'ABS fault non-function' message comes up.
