Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

After Citroen C5 2012, Peugeot 508 GT 2017 i am considering buying a used DS7 2.0 disel 2018, 175000km. Now my concern is this how reliable is this car? Is this car worth buying and driving without major issues for a couple of years? What are the common issues? My second choice is Peugeot 5008 GT 2.0 also 2018. What is your respectful opinion?

I have a feeling something has broken in the rear electric motor.

I was reversing into my driveway when suddenly the car started emitting very loud grinding noise from the rear.

When put in to neutral no issue, but as soon as a forward or reverse is engaged and throttle is applied, the car barely moves. Sound from rear is very loud.

Hard to tell if this is part of the transmission reducer (if it has a bearing noise) which is part of the electric motor sub-assembly or something else to do with the piloted gearbox....

Only a proper look will determine the problem, but fingers crossed it's not the electronic reduction gear, as that's a tad under £2.2k

Hi. Maybe somebody has more info or experience about this. My keyless entry works with the driver door (left in my case - LHD) occasionally, it has never worked with the passenger door but always works with the tailgate. When it was not working with the doors at all, I got error codes as follows:

The Hands Free ADML unit is a pig to get to and requires on a left hand drive that the whole upper and lower trim on the driver's side is removed, the BSI is removed in order to get to it at (18). It is not designed to be easily accessible for obvious reasons.

hi just bought a ds 5 hybrid it is fitted with genuine citroen wheels but they are 19 is this standard fitment. as most of the other ds,s i have looked at were 18 they are in quite bad condition what effect would it have on the car if i were to put 18 wheels on (i.e would it affect speedo reading etc) any help apreciated

I have a DS DS5 2012, and it has only been driven for 45000 miles. However, I have noticed that even after locking the door, it can still be opened by anyone, which triggers the security alarms. The alarm button will only deactivate the internal movement sensors (volumetric protection) and pressing the button is not enough. You need to switch the ignition off, then hold the alarm button down for a few seconds...

Hello,

After a new scan with Diagbox i found out that my DPF is clogged at 69% and a regeneration media is about 250km (from what i heard it should be 400km).
I haven’t received any DPF errors yet.

Which should be the next best step?
Making a Diagbox regen while driving the car? (Due to the fact that the stationary one may be dangerous).

Thanks for your reply I thought that may have already been installed, as my DS5 is a 2017 performance edition.
I was quite surprised that it didn't have a reversing camera to be honest for the age of the vehicle, one the last years the DS5 was made, plus the visibility isn't the best in the DS5.

Morning all.
I keep getting Tyre Under Inflation Monitoring fault sporadically. Tyres are fine and it shows for all wheels? Im presuming its a comms fault. Sometimes it lastf for a few minutes sometimes a day or 2 but always resets itself.
Any ideas??

Hi all, just wondering what the car means by knock, superknock can't really find much detail online.. ovbiously the knock sensor has detected knocking in the engine but I've never heard of superknock

superknock is just a really big knock. The engine ECU is continually adjusting the ignition timing so that the combustion is just on the edge of knocking (which is the most efficient setting), but the knock produced during this process is slight and inaudible.

Occasionally the engine will use a part of the ignition map which his not configured...

I have just encountered a bit of an issue and thought i'd bounce it off people here for thoughts.

My DS9 was a late June 22 reg date, apparently a part of a fleet order that fell through. When I bought the car 13 months later from Nissan Leicester I was told the lease co was a partner/ subsiduary of the group and they were offloading them....

It would make some difference to the MPG, albeit not as much as freewheeling.

If you were in a manual in 5th say you'd have more engine braking vs 6th and retain less speed so mpg would be a little higher. Like you say in auto's its like they are programmed on the revs for each gear, where changing down is fine but you can't select a gear too...

Hi

My 2011 DS3 rear washer jet has suddenly decided to stop squirting water. I can hear the motor pump working and there is no water leak under the car.
I can't seem to find any visible screws to be able to remove the rear top brake light assembly to inspect the jet and piping.

Any ideas

I just did this on my recently bought DS3, I used a small screwdrivers and gently probed about until I found the clip, and pushed until I could manipulate the light assembly out. Then disconnected the wiring and hose, then blew the nozzle both ways. Now works ok, but I think i opned th ehole a litle when messing about with a needle a few weeks...

Hi , My first post , love my DS5 2013, however one problem is the poor illumination of the road , I have replaced the HID with like for like bulbs and adjusted manually the levels, how ever the bulbs glow brightly but do not light up the road a head , quite dangerous on the country roads. The high beam works well.
Any suggestion on what to look at...

D1S bulbs in common with all xenon type bulbs must be replaced in pairs otherwise the colour output will be different and will become more obvious over time.

Stock bulbs can often have a yellowish light, but you can get upgraded lights form Osram like the Xenarc Nightbreakers that provide a purer white colour and significant projection of light...

so my car gave yp the ghost and I had to be towed home by the AA..

The following info was found by their diagnostics machine. Appreciate if anyone can advise what the cause may be.. Patrolman said ohhhhhhhh, its a can bus comms error only specialised garage will be able to repair this....seriously the codes point to something lol!!!!...

I did the update complete conform the manual. But since my DS7 is an E-Tense, my car fell a bit in sleep during the update. Finaly the update was succesfull, but since then my mirrors won't fold in when i lock the car, and the distance sensors are working on the screen, but don't give any sound anymore. I have had similar issues which have repaired themselves by switching the option off and back on again, even without exiting the setup screen. Hope it helps but would be a shame if they didn't know to try this at the dealer's.

4 wheel drive
ICE & Base Damping
ICE & Variable Damping
PHEV Train & Base Damping

Good morning all,

The rear view camera on my DS5 (2012 model) is great in the day but quite useless in a dark carpark or in the evenings. i have replaced teh reverse lights with LED ones as well as the numberplate ones but still not much luck. Has anyone done anything to resolve the poor quality issues?

Yes, just a plug-in replacement. You won't get any blown bulb warnings, and will have reversing lights like headlights.

It will definitely improve the camera. Whether it will be good enough is an unknown. I do know that my later camera is definitely clear as day with these light bulbs, but the older camera may be less good but may or may not be...

May well be a very simple solution to this but my DS5 is very lazy at turning over to start on cold mornings

Wondering if it's just the case of an aging battery or something else

Lazy as in doesn't turn over as fast as you'd think, especially with a new battery, starter motor sounds slower

I tend to press the start button first and wait for the glow plug light to go out before I start it in cold weather anyway 👍🏻

Hi,
Car broke down last night on rush hour when the clutch pedal dropped to the floor

Had the RAC out and they recovered me to a local garage who have been trying to fix it today

Looks like it is the pipe in front of the slave cylinder that goes to the bleed nipple and the pipe has lost two small circlips that hold it together meaning the clutch...

Basically brought a secondhand additive tank and pump of eBay and toped up the eolys fluid to about 2ltrs

Pump all working and now fitted back to the car.

Hi! I have a ds3 cabrio THP 156hp from 2013.

Some weeks ago a message appeared on the screen saying ”top up engine oil level” so I checked the level with the useless oil dipstick and it seemed that it was a bit low.
So I filled it up with about a litre but the message showed up again and again. I filled up even more but the message won’t stop...

Firstly, if you are having trouble reading the oil level on the dipstick, try placing the end of the dipstick on a paper towel, the oil is easier to see on the paper.

Don't start the engine if the level is more than a few mm high.

I believe that the low oil warning is sticky and you need to start the engine a few times (5?) before it goes away....

Just replaced a rear parking sensor on my DS5 after someone pushed in the rear bumper and crushed the old sensor, plastic bumper sprung back and all ok, but service light on the dashboard alarm sounds and now no sensors are working but reversing camera is still operative, is there a fuse blown? not all the fuses have a description in the manuals...

Noticed that I’m getting no heat from any of my vents on drivers side only cold

So i had the car in service for throttle body replacement, and they stated that: there's a hard negative presure in the engine / valve is open -> Rocker cover needs to be changed.

I have only just bought the DS5 airdream and all the locks work properly with the remote control but the keyless entry only works on the passenger side the drivers door or the passenger door on that side doe's not work? Could that be a fuse or something or both handles fault, any advice please
