I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

I'm having a look at my mates car (2017 X1 118D) which has a bad oil leak. The only place I could see it was leaking from was the oil cap itself, tried a new cap and it made no difference, I then had an air leak issue so did a smoke test, found the leak but it also showed up a crack in the plastic valve cover. I glued that shut and whilst it was...

Having just watched the video on the Classic over 10k thread , I noticed how the airflow to the radiator was severely restricted by the spare wheel. Having never owned one it made me wonder if that ever led to overheating problems and this has to be the place to ask :?: :)

I've found the answer to my question on this forum . It seems that generally the ducting system around the spare wheel ensured sufficient air into the radiator, but in extreme areas the introduction of a second radiator in front of the spare wheel did help the engine cooling!! :-D

My Daughter's car has started playing up with EML showing @ 111,517 miles. No previous problems in the last 9 years.

So far i've stripped out battery/tray/ECU and 3 T20 bolts on the end of the ERG solenoid but it wouldn't separate, a look at access to remove the EGR completely for cleaning reveals horrendous access that prompted me...

The carbs won't come off the ZZR-1100 without removing the airbox. It's 8 or 9 10mm bolts with quite long threads for the lid. Once that's off, there's three bolts that hold the airbox to the carbs which can only be reached by people with tiny deformed hands and magic 8mm bendy ratchet spanners.

I've been reading several things online about MOT testers having to take photos of vehicles they are testing, to prove the test is valid and not an iffy one. Is that the case? Or is it a government wishlist that probably won't happen due to the storage of such photos etc....

My Vaillant gas boiler fitted in 2006 has become troublesome so I decided to replace it with the latest version of the Vaillant range, got a quote from British Gas and accepted it, boiler delivered as arranged yesterday, guy came to fit it this morning.

You have to be very cautious about what AI tells you in my experience, and not just the Google variety... Ask it some question or another and the answers it gives can range from plausible, inaccurate, wrong, totally wrong and even dangerous. The questions don't even have to be particularly arcane.

Had Thames Water ring the doorbell around 8.30 this evening asking if they could have an inspection of our sewer manhole as there is a blockage somewhere!! I had to remove a lot of stuff to gain access to the cover as you can see here:

My daughter in the USA had her Hyundai engine blow so she's replaced it with one of these:

Hyundai are considering compensating her for the engine failure despite the car being 12 years old with 112k miles on the clock. :o

If my own experience is anything to go by I'd say she's made an excellent choice. My 2004 Legacy SEN has most of the features mentioned in the video, just misses the mobile phone orientated stuff. Coming up to 150k on the clock and with the maintenance schedule I keep to everything still works as it did when new!! :-D

I should add that most of my TV viewing in the 70s was from the back of the set via a mirror on the wall at the back of the workbench :)

Many of that was either viewing the test card and thinking what a pretty girl Carol Hershee was or at a crosshatch pattern when adjusting the convergence on those new-fangled colour sets...

The trouble is Gibbo you don't have to pay to go the fair!! I am going to visit Farnborough again this month and have the Open University Open Day at the end of the month so I'll give the FCS a miss. Twin tube resin delivery guns

Hi peeps

Anyone know if the resin delivery guns are a universal fit ?? or can recommend a dirt cheap one

I need to use this type of resin (standard 3M twin tube).....are 3M tubes unique ? Their own guns are a little steep for a One-Off job
