I have a Renault Laguna (2002) and I am getting water in the nearside front passenger side. The trim under the cubby is soaking but have checked the drains and they seem to be OK. The strange thing is it doesn't do it every time it rains. Am I missing something or does the screen need re-sealing. Any ideas ??

we have a scenic fidji 1.6 petrol. when we got it,you could press a little button under the boot and open just the glass part of the boot without opening the whole thing. This no longer works...does anybody know why this would be? is it on a fuse? or is it wiring? if it's anything complicated then i can forget it,if it could be something as...

I would check for power to it and if the buuton works correctly if not I think it is opened by an electronic solenoid, so guess that this could have failed or become lazy. If i remember I'll take a quick peak at mine to get some ideas.

The above vehicle is my van but there is also a 2.5dci with 120bhp and a 2.5dci with 150bhp, now does anyone know the difference between the three engines and more importantly how the 100 is limited? is it down to boost levels, ecu prgrammed fueling??????? intake restrictor :?

seems interesting but 100bhp isnt much to come out of a 2.5 TD engine........
Mine does have an intercooler although it is a bit um small.....and it is a fixed geo Turbo too.

All i was thinking is if its something simple then i may up the power to give better economy, its always heavily loaded and takes a bit of winding up sometimes and...

Broken door handle

On replacing interior door handle original broke because cable activating door lock mechanism inoperative. Need to remove interior door panel.
how do you remove window winder handle as well .
Have unscrewed 4 screws from underside of door but cannot see how panel removes to access where cable locates into door lock behind it

I would imagine you'd need to swap the axle from a megane that does have discs. Do note, that discs at the rear will not make you stop any faster!

hi, we have a 1.6 i spec edition fidji renault scenic. We got the car for a good price as it was cat c. It has been professionally repaired and we got the vic certificate from vosa,car is lovely. However,we have just found out that the central locking is not working on the rear near side,this is where some of the damage was sustained. I wonder...

ok, I posted earlier on here regarding one door not locking centrally. didnt get any answers so far,but does anybody know if it is possible to lock the door in anyway from the inside? there are no locking buttons to push down but could i lock it if i got into the door by taking the inner panel off? thanks for any help...

ITs dam cold here in Durham and I have no heating in my 97 laguna , its freezing up in the inside as I drive along! BBBbrrrrrrrrr
So far I have flushed the heater matrix, get about 3/4 of flow through it so that should me enough to work, the heater matrix is not leaking, have used the bleed valve made sure there no air in it and cooland level all...

No problem with the air flow, blower works on all settings and selects all direstions no probs. Flaps? Any idea where i find them?
Probably in the worst place possible to access them but they will be behind/under the dash somewhere.

If you can find it then the control module is the most likely suspect. Mine died and it is under the trim just...

The radio display on my '53 plate Renault Scenic doesn't always work. It VERY rarely comes on when I turn the radio on, then will just spring into life while I'm driving. I've also noticed that the remote stalk doesn't work until the radio display comes on.

Having just paid squillions for a gearbox repair, the Kangoo has now decided to run on three cylinders and engine management light flashing. Too dark and cold to go messing about at the mo but if anyone has a starter for ten with regard to where to look first. I'm thinking duff coil, any advances?

So it was a coil. Strange thing though when I was checking them out by substitution a second one failed so I bit the bullet and replaced all four. Seems fine now and ticks over smoother than ever. £75 total from GSF.

or it could be your immobiliser, check the red light on centre dash stays on constant during starting.

Hi, as the title says.It been a bit cold in West Wales recently :lol: On start up all is well and car starts and runs,but I get a warning symbol on the dash that looks like a pan with a lid on and squiggles rising from it ? Update, I have found the symbol in the handbook but just says ring Renault. I think it is as you say the catalyst but do not understand how the overheating symbol would show on start up,maybe overfueling due to colder than normal weather ???

Weird occurrence tonight that's stopped me using car for time being.

Driving along at 40 tonight when the dipped beam bulbs on the car both blew at the same instant, and the battery light, STOP light, SERV light, ABS light and airbag light came on.

Pulled over and checked bulbs. Both melted. Only...

just as a precaution i would change the battery as well as this would have been damaged to some extent from the power surge, to be honest this sounds about right if the power regulator on the altenator has packed up as it would blow fuses and bulbs before cooking the battery but said i would still change the battery as a mattery of due course just...

Thanks Guys i took it for a run yesterday and the message clearedbut before i did i booked it in to have the data read for free at the same place as it was serviced before i bought it so i think ill still take it in and get them to give me a list of current faults ( if any )

thats true but its usaly down to poor maintanance! the f9q aint a bad engine its just people dont look after them!

At least they are not all bad then, I know of quite a few 1.9 Renaults which have needed new engines for various reasons. Its a real shame as the cars are excellent, i really like Renaults. If the 1.9DCI seemed like a more reliable...

My Kangoo autobox has taken to dropping into third gear with a bang and staying there until the ignition is turned off and on again, after which it behaves normally again for a while. No lights on the dash. Anyone have an idea if this is fixable or is it a box replacement? :(

Hi all i am looking at a laguna 1.8 16v on a 51 reg and i have a question

when i drove it the clutch seemed quite high but if you put it in 1st and slowly bring you foot out it bits at half way but not when driving it seems alot higher

is this normal or does the clutch need attention soon

I have a 95 clio 1.4 auto which stopped working overnight! There is no spark and no fuel comming to the engine either. i am under the impression its the dreaded immobiliser fault as i've checked the R/C/L reciever on the roof and youve guessed it........... full of water. i thought they were similar to peugeot, ie. the remote key and reciever were paired, as per yellow code label in both hi, as far as i can remember you have an infered key, if so the reciever in the roof is just that a reciever and is not coded, the decoder is part of the fuse board know as the UC bic, hope this helps, Antz..

Im pretty sure our old Renault RX4 had that 2.0 16v engine, with that car it would return around 30MPG at best, but it was 4 wheel drive. Around town our Xm 2.0 auto would do about 20MPG. 30ishMPG on average with mixed driving.

tailgate sensor

my 2000 laguna estate got nudged up the back the other day causing the tailgate to get jammed ,so with a bit of technical adjustment i got it open and readjusted the catch trouble is now the bloody computer keeps telling me luggage compartment not closed but it is so does anyone know where the sensor is as the bol is as ever useless!

I have a Megane 1.5 diesel 2009 and can't find the air or pollen filters. Any ideas? There doesn't seem to be much info on these cars yet.
I'm happy with the car except for the turbo lag which i can live with. Over 60mpg at a constant 75mph.

Water in Megane footwell locker

Can anyone please advise. I have just noticed the passenger footwell locker is very wet in my '53 plate Megane 1.5DCI. Everywhere else is quite dry. What is the likely source of this and how can I sort it out?

I bought this for my dad(my wife has an S reg phase 2 V6 24V executive),but this is an R reg phase 1 24V,us lot at the garage never knew such a laguna was built,we all thought all phase 1 was 12v V6.

i have the dreaded gearbox fault causing it to bang and bring the gearbox warning light on when cold ive lived with it for a bit but now the missis is having it and we are expecting a baby so need to sort it really

any help advice etc would be...

Veg oil

Doese anyone if i can run my 06 1.9 dci Grand scenic on veg oil i did put 10 ltr of bio in and it ran fine allthough this was an emergency ( no fuel and the filling point only sold bio )

First post here for me.
We have a problem with the keyless entry on our 53 scenic II.
Its a funny one really. The remote central locking works just fine.
The opening sensors on the handles are intermittent. Sometimes they work somtimes not. When they don't work its generally one side of the car that goes dead.

This is a common problem from what I know on all models with handsfree entry. The switches inside the handles corrode on the inner workings. I know, I have taken them apart. I now have replaced the switches on both Megane and Clio models and have had no problems since.

Hi, yes this is common across the range. My latest purchase came with the problem and I was adamant to get a workround. I can now fix these on Meganes and Clios without removing any trim.

Hi, does anybody know how to remove the central air vent of a Laguna 2 (53 plate)? Just bought it and found the clip missing off the back of the vent louvres. Figure it might have fallen inside. Can get new one if needed but need to know how to get the unit out without breaking anything :D

It has EVERYTHING. It's a bit of a clumsy program to use but all the information is in there.

I use it mainly for the electrics side of things.

It is the program that every Renault technician refers to...so all bases covered.
