boot opening scenic???

hi,
we have a scenic fidji 1.6 petrol. when we got it,you could press a little button under the boot and open just the glass part of the boot without opening the whole thing. This no longer works...does anybody know why this would be? is it on a fuse? or is it wiring? if it's anything complicated then i can forget it,if it could be something as simple as a fuse then I can sort it

...any help greatly appreciated....

I would check for power to it and if the buuton works correctly if not I think it is opened by an electronic solenoid, so guess that this could have failed or become lazy. If i remember I'll take a quick peak at mine to get some ideas.
