This forum (and the BXC forum which runs on the same server) has been bombarded with requests from guest users using Vietnamese IP addresses. I noticed it yesterday and blocked several address ranges, but they have been even more prolific today, with a peak of about 5500 requests in one minute, which the forum database service could not handle.

Hi all!
After a long time of lurking around in this fine forum, i have finally decided to register here.
I have a Xantia HDI estate -2000, my first Citroen after numerous German and Swedish cars like BMW and Volvo.
The Xantia still runs like a charm, even in snowstorms and -40c temperatures.

I am back in the Citroen fold after a few years with VX,I cannot seem to kick the C5 habit not because I have fond memories of my last C5 a complete money pit :( it was 2001 V6 Exclusive loved all the gadgets but it was a pain,I suspect it was damaged at sometime at the front repaired but they left a suspension pump that was needing replaceing it...

One of my favourite roads is to the west of Wrexham. It's a fairly tight single track road on a moorland and comes out on to the Horseshoe pass, I've no idea what the proper name of the moor is though I'd like to know!

2004 model just acquired and have had Anti Pollution warning along with the service and engine management symbol on.

May have been an own goal as I put Millars diesel clean additive to a full tank of fuel however, also have following symptoms:

Car will not rev past about 2,800 rpm althouth drives fine otherwise.

Had my '98 306 (xud non turbo) estate, 104k miles, since February and thought I should enlist to this great site. I've got previous form - a 405 xud to be precise, which ran great on cooking oil till it exprired of non-fuel related issues. Current car is Lucas equipped, so plain old diesel, at least for now.

Re the EGR as Chris states you won't have problems at MOT time, the easiest way to stop it operating is to pull off the vacuum hose that runs from the solenoid to the valve then plug the end of the rubber pipe with a screw to prevent crud being drawn into the vacuum pump.

Thought I'd register here as I've just bought my first Citroen, a 2002 C5 2.2HDi Executive SE. Very impressed with it so far, I think the first owner went a bit nuts and ticked every possible option box when he bought it. I'm sure the novelty of the big colour screen will wear off soon. :mrgreen:

Don't discount the MAF even though its worse unplugged. One C5 we bought had just had a new MAF fitted by the Citroen specialists who we bought it from. It was so slow, a real slug which had to be thrashed everywhere to get going and fuel economy was rubbish because of it. If performed nothing like our other HDi C5, I swapped the MAF over from one...

Just a quick hello before I post my first call for help!

We're a two car family, both Citroen.

Mine's a 1998 Mk1 Xsara 1.9D Estate which I currently run on veg oil, slow as hell but gives 50+ MPG and is relatively easy to work on.

Wife's is a 2001 MK2 Xsara 2.0 HDi Automatic Estate, very economical for an automatic and get around 47-49...

Welcome to FCF.

The 2.5 XM was a bit of an odd-ball in design terms.
The cruise was not aftermarket but genuine Citroen.
It was the only XM model to get electronic cruise.
All the other XM's with cruise got the generic and historic vac cruise as fitted to many 1980's cars.
The 2.5 cruise routines were included in the engine ECU as...

My only French car right now is a 405 Le Mans which i have had for 4 years and until recently has been my regular daily transport, but now its taking life a little easier, although i also look after my fathers 406 V6 saloon ( which was mine many years ago).

Now on my 4th Citroen and the guy i bought it from asked if i was a member here
well now i am.

Upgraded from Ford Sierras to my first Xantia 1.9TD
Then bought a 3.0 exclusive which i still have.
Bought another slightly older 3.0 exclusive when the 1.9 gave up the ghost.
Got myself a C5 dual fuel a few weeks ago.

hi i used to own a peugeot 406 1.9td intill yesterday. Now i have a citroen xantia and what a better drive and better aquiped car, it makes the pug seem very slow and unrevined. its nice to be able to overtake without a run up. Pug was an 97 and the xantia is a 95.

I'm Craig from Runcorn in Cheshire and after having fords and vauxhalls for the last few years I realised that I have been missing a french car on my drive :cry:

I am without a car at the minute and my main love is for Renault but after seeing the Xantia threads it is looking like swinging me towards that but I can't make my mind up :roll:

I never fancied one really. A buddy had a 2.1 TD which drove very well though.

I have owned a 406 2.1 + Xm 2.1

Both had Epic pumps which never gave me any trouble .

Everything else gave grief on the Xm. :evil:
