Due to excessive server loading caused by some badly behaved 'bots' (automated content collectors), I have changed the anti-ddos settings on the site to be much more aggressive.

This has had the desired effect of reducing the server loading from 100% to about 10% (the other 90% was coming from just 8 IP addresses located in China).

Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

This coming Thursday (09/05) Lidl have an air cooler for sale. I have something similar, and it can take a bad night (when it is to hot and muggy to get any sleep) to a tolerable night (where you get a few hours sleep). Yes, it isn't as good as A/C, but it does make a difference.

Just casting my my mind around the various films in which I've see French-built cars. Comes to mind:

2 CV in Pink Panther with old Peter Sellers

Then only vaguely are the cars in the Day of the Jackal, but there have to be some in Manon des Source, Les Regles du Jeu (sp?), but I don't recall any in The Duellists.

The FCF used to liken itself to the friendly atmosphere of a good pub, and there's none better than The Pickled Egg which appears once a month in a Magazine called Cheers which is distributed free in North-East Pubs. Its the work of Cluff (John Longstaff) and consistently makes me chuckle.

Yes its been Clio day today for me, but where did the name come from and is it any good?

If you are well up on Greek Mythology maybe Clio means something, or if you are familiar with the works of Carlo Franzoni you may well make the connection to his Car of History sculpture in the US Capitol. In general though its a fairly meaningless word which...

Got up this morning and thought 'Sun' and empty garage, SWMBO out on Mondays, time to make a better job of the emergency bumper repair that I did last year! So I removed the parking sensor and ran into the first issue. The connector plug fell apart in my hands so a bit of reworking required:

I decided to start a new thread for this post on the OTCL as I think it may get more contributions than a personal blog in the members area!!
