I don't have knowledge of the Peugeot, but the issue of a loose connection is known with several makes of car.
I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

This is my current fleet:

The C5 is an SX model with optional Leather/Ambiance pack, 2 liter 136hp EW10J4 engine with the manual box. Only one previous owner and Its an ´04, so it has the stainless exhaust and superior :) drive by wire throttle.
About 100k uk miles on it, the interior is in very good condition. The exterior needs some work...

I have now changed the bonnet, right front wing, bumper and headlight support bracket.
Bumper and wing are freshly painted. The new bonnet is in the wrong shade, left wing needs to be replaced due to corrosion and my painter forgot to paint the grille.
So i will get those repainted in a while...
Treated it to a polish and ceramic coat...

Coachwerks in Victoria BC restored the bodyshell of my 1966 Peugeot 404C Injection, number 4598609.

Note the KF2 Injection engine, now on the stand in the photo

The new old stock body panels (floors, front and rear wings, other panels, all in NOS) were dropped off at the blasting shop in November 2016.

I'll update this from time to time and...

That’s very good, locally I get about 20mpg which is ok given she weighs over 2t and I thrash it about, on a steady run, if I can keep to 50-55mph I can get up to 28mpg, more is achievable but the problem is that due to aerodynamics (lack of) it is most economical at 40mph, and nobody has the time or patience for 40mph unless it’s a quiet B road...

I hope anyway..

I sold my 2.2 16v vtx on and took a 2004 vtr 2.0 8v 110 hdi manual in part ex.. With known small issues..

A look over and a session with lexia pointed towards a dodgy glow meter and I saw two vac pipes the wrong way round to the electro valve..

So I fitted a decent flow meter and instantly
Noticed a freeer revving engine...

Another few years go by. Xsara didn't need an MOT last June (covid extension). 4 advisories on the MOT a month ago. Bottom ball joint play, Back brake pads look thin. Exhaust back box slight leak. Rear tyre worn edge.

Today I took posession of a 2005 C5 1.6 Estate with under 70K on the clock. It wasn't in the red I wished for (it's just a grey like every other car out there which I'm sure will provide much merryment in large car parks) but it does have towbar. electrics, roof bars and a dog guard.

It also comes with it's acquired faults, like the tailgate loom...

Just got the C15 back up to London (with the benefit of its £30 Devon MoT). Not exactly a fun drive but it gave me time to reflect - & I came up with this idea!

Ok, it's a pretty easy job to do, but make sure you have some plastic trim removal tools similar to the ones below. You'll also need some heat shrink for the wiring once cut and spliced to repair the connection.

Nice, although the handbrake remark... In my experience drums are just as much a pain as discs! If you're going to be using the car regularly and driving hard then I'd think again about discs, regular use will keep the handbrake in line.

Collected my purchase this morning in the pouring rain. Not in bad condition overall. The body work is quite respectable for a 22 year old car. Does need a really good clean though. The only real problem I can see is the heater mattrix appears to be leaking #-o Ironicly the dash needs to come out of the TD which is partly why I bought this one...

It has been commented (elsewhere on this forum, but posted today) that the CAT on the V6 engine is too good, and takes time to get warmed up. IIRC it takes two minutes at 3,000RPM for the cat to get hot enough, and then the emissions magically drop to zero.

It's a good job I love my C5, but it, in turn, loves being at the local garage - who I must say do a very god job.
Interestingly it's the only X7 that they look after.

So it passed it's MOT with only a front drop link that had to replaced which they did while it was there.
It got a fast pass on emissions too, which was very gratifying.

I wasn't sure I was going to keep this rescue car, it started as a personal challenge/educational project due to the initial problem(s) as documented;

It's been parked up (SORN) with a view to putting it through the MOT to see how it would fair then maybe sell it on.

However, my already poor health had taken a further nose-dive last month...

just on the off-chance really.
Anyone got any 'improvement' on my plan to fabricate a new one of these, circled

Best I can think at the mo is....
replicate the curve in plasticine
cut a piece of wood to shape
cut metal with one slit near the bottom
Use that as a 'former' to batter a flat piece of 0.8mm sheet into a replacement.

It has started. Gabby getting her freshen up. I’m going to do it all myself. The first stage is rubbing down all the bits that are getting filler. The rear door on the passenger side has a crease the length of it but it is not getting filled. I’m pleased to announce no further welding needed. She is as sound as a pound....
