Ok so I wimped out and have taken the beast to a Indy Citroën garage.
The very nice man has found pond water for cooling fluid, a leaking ride height thingie and the front spheres needs changing.
On the plus side he thought I have bought a good car..
What a nice man, holding my breath for the bill thou.

Cambelt has been done, done over two days with the help of MikeT. Much appreciated Mike.

Efi may be on the cards for winter, i feel decent gains could be achieved by mapping the ignition properly & i fancy fitting nitrous over winter :D

Problem is that if you wish to tune it for power/torque/MPG or use Bio/Veg with it then the pump throws a right wobbler and hates you for the rest of its life :( I guess if they are easier to take apart then you could have a couple as spares and run the veg through it and then when it coughs it take it out and...

Two holes were there as the XUD sprocket has two holes to enable the sprocket to be sufficiently well locked with two pins to enable the pump to be removed without disturbing the timing belt; you could undo the centre nut on the sprocket and pull the sprocket free of the taper and then remove the pump.

I'd say the top hole is the one as...

I believe the Pullman Merc 600 (as per Clarkson) was touted as being the biggest
wheelbase but that it didn't really qualify as a standard production car whereas
the Cx Prestige was a regular (albeit top of the range) car bought in
mainstream manufacture production not made to special order for Dictators
and Popstars.

No. When I made my comment I was thinking more of the old Lister H series gensets. You could leave those for donleys and run themn on anytjhing vaugely combustible under compression :lol:

The fibre optic stalks were discontinued around 1988 :roll:

Both my Monty's were the two stage type. When warm they were fine and tbh, the VAG 1.9 TDi units were about the same in noise. The Perkins makes a unique sound though and feels like it will go on forever, its just a shame the car around it wont unless you dedicated to the cause.

hmmmmm, I was afraid of that. Y'see when I fitted the new timing belt, although the belt was taught from crank to fuel pump, the next stage to cam was quite loose. Not enough to get another tooth out of it but poss a good half. Timing holes/bolts...

simply the lubrication from the cross hatch reduces friction.

well.......... the van lost all of its coolant 2days ago, on a very bussy road! felt like a right knob!

it was the little water housing on the rear of the block, its was cracked and had a hole the size of a 5p init!

so changed that this morning (was a propper (-expletive removed-))
and notice there was a oil leak so fixed that

and blacked out the rear windows,...

According to the Citroenian, the 'proper' convoy will be just before Saturday lunchtime and we'll be armed with our packed lunch boxes for a munch somewhere pictureque.

To be honest i thought that a turbine would have to be balanced by a pro unit due to the speeds involved it would need to be checked, specially if you seperate the turbines from the spindle??

Grooved discs should do an equal job, and they look nice as well. They also provide better initial bite when wet. Pad wear may increase though, but I guess the same goes for drilled discs too.

i did look at grooved and drilled but thought that maybe it was too much bits cut out of the disc and went for drilled only, as far as i can see these...

Way back in January (was it that long ago?) when I assumed custody of my V6, Fatherjack and I did the paperwork and the new V5 came back to me quite promptly..

However, I received no notification to renew the tax that expired at the end of March. I was aware though...

Had a brief chat with my nephew last evening and so far, all is looking good on his 205. It's running very sweetly and he's been taking it on ever longer journeys.

Quick bit of feedback, probably won't help much but i hate reading threads which don't get closed.
My dad took the car to his regular garage, they told him they checked out all the wiring etc tried all the fixes, turning it on and leaving it, disconnecting battery etc but couldn't get it to go. From this they concluded the keypad was faulty and...

The blue one is normally stabled away from home with our caravan. I brought it home today for some TLC before it does a spell on loan to a friend for a few months.

She's still looking good, not bad for a Xantia that is getting on for 15 years old now :)

There is a scene for them, i used to be a big part of it but its clicky and its not really for me anymore. I learnt alot of the years from it all and its only now i'm starting to enjoy the car more!

The boost control sounds quite sophisticated actually, mine originally is just actuator only. One day i'll get a proper electronic boost controller...

The XAN71A is the spit image of my Xant, with the minor exception of the ruddy great hole in the offside doors that a passing milkman thoughtfully arranged for me. Barsteward still hasn't forked out for it yet either.

Still miss that car.
