As long as we've had this car it's boot has shut with a bit of a rattle and bit of a clang.
The rattle seemingly, was this lot: These were floating about in the void between two layers of the boot structure.
The clang was these two "links" between outer and inner, seemingly bonded together with a black sealant. In service life of that is obviously long past as neither link was actually stuck to the other surface!
