Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers

Ha ha, good news on all fronts!

Yes I hate the wet too, would take icy cold (but dry) over a good few degrees warmer but raining any day of the week (end!)

Likewise dry sunny winters day favourite kind of weather. Hate the rain can't do anything in it. Too warm and you can't move. Yeah so all good on all fronts so far a few issues but I think I am pretty much there with it for now at least. The rain seems to like weekends sunny and dry all week and then bloody rain for the weekend.

Ordered the seals for bearing end cap and rear mains. €40 including shipping I have a brand new tube of dirco as well. It involves pulling the sump so I have a good bit of work ahead of me but I don't need the hassle of trying to do it on the car.
There's that much oil there I couldn't tell where it was leaking from so just going to change all of them it's an extra bit of work but easier done on the crane. I don't want any reason to pull the engine again once it's installed.

im going to pressure test the cooling system off the car as well so I don't get any nasty surprises.i should have done this first before I done all the other work but hindsight and all that.

Bucketing down rain here again today so i will be leaving it alone until it dries up a bit.

Hi all, finally got back to the car today. I was sick the last couple of weeks with flu or something so had to wait on it to go away accompanied by the fact I had pulled something in.my back dragging the engine crane around so out of commission and a bit cautious.
Any way I pulled the sump cleaned it and done the bearing end cap seals and rear main seal. I never took photos as i forgot to bring the phone out with me. I also reinstalled the flywheel clutch and gearbox.

I need to reinstall the loom again as I had discovered a few damaged connectors and had to repair them. I've also to
Reinstall the starter motor and the injectors. The injectors are sitting in a box after being tested and cleaned so all going well I should have the engine and gearbox in the car tomorrow and hopefully running by next week.

How did you get on with the timing belt ?

You probably posted earlier about it but I must have missed it.

When I did my timing belt on the X7 I removed the starter motor to give better access to the timing hole on the fly wheel. But with engine out it would be a lot easier.

Hi Kenny, I put a new gates kit onto the replacement engine. If you look back a few posts I had a bit of fun with the timing belt actually the water pump more so as it was heavily corroded on the replacement engine.

I have the engine and gearbox back in the car now so mission accomplished for this weekend at least.My engine crane is starting to leak so not too soon either. Just have to install injectors and ECU and driveshafts etc. now. I'll do that in the evening after work if I get time.

Starter off for flywheel timing position hole = yes, same here.

Engine crane leak = I was surprised how cheap replacement rams are, £30 or so on eBay for complete item. Current one might be fixable but time spent doing that is taking you away from the car

Engine stand looks excellent, more robust than my cheap one. Looks to fold up like my engine crane, legs upwards.

Yes Kenny, I hope so. I'm not putting a date on it because every time I do something goes wrong.

Yes starter off for timing used the old dual mass flywheel off the donor engine to time it up then installed my smf kit it all lines up right so happy timing is spot on.
I saw a ram for €60 so I might pick it up instead of trying to repair the old one. Hoping I won't need the crane any time soon. Engine stand is robust and folds up like the crane but it is a it wide for getting inside the crane so you have to rest the legs on the crane which makes it awkward to use. I figured out how to buy it s a bit frustrating. As I say hopefully won't be required until the summer when I hopefully have time to work on my Maxima

Ah, yes understand what you mean about crane + stand legs in the way of one another. Mine has smaller wheels and a smaller frame. I guess it must just pass under my crane's frame as I don't remember having a battle like that!
