Today this goes up for Auction at Morris Leslie in Perth, sale starts at 1.00pm, a trade in from a local MG dealership.
Dont know if the Auction is viewable, or whether it is trade only, its their weekly "Modern" auction.

Edit. Not Trade only, not live streamed on things like the saleroom/youtube, but viewable if registered for "Livebid" with Morris Leslie.

Very similar to mine, its a 2015 64 reg, (mine is a 2015 65) 11/12 bars on the Battery Capacity indicator and 65,000 miles.

...and the provisional result for that vehicle was £3,850 hammer Price plus buyers commission of £480 inc VAT a total of £4,330. The sale was provisional, the hammer price must have been below the reserve.

Sold with no warranty, and the minimum of pre-inspection if you could have been bothered to drive up to Errol Airfield.

Probably the cheapest way of buying used electric. If a trader bought that vehicle, the asking price will be more akin to these prices from Autotrader

The seller is a MG Dealership, maybe quite happy to sell it on for a little under the average condition est which seems to trigger the cars being "on sale" in the auction as it was unfolding.

On another thread today, I reported that the Leaf had done about 65,000 miles.

Literally ticked over to 65,000 exactly tonight...Acquired the car at 28,400 miles 36,600 not out so far, and never run out of fuel yet, and managed to cope with the ever developing on-the-road charging infrastructure without too many dramas, and round here there is really no need for complaint, getting better all the time

What's the "handling" like on a bog standard Nissan Leaf. Perfectly adequate I would say even on pretty ordinary tyres. Yes managed to stop within the distance I could see to be clear round this corner quite comfortably this time.

Price of batteries for small scale and diy conversions is the top and bottom of it Ryan, and large scale conversions has not developed, where batteries can be supplied at scale and at a price the manufacturers of new EV’s enjoy.

Dear Neil. Thank you for the invitation to this post. I bought my 2018 Nissan Leak e-connecta just 2 months ago, and already have done 6500 Kms. The car had done a whopping 218000 kms when i bought it, but had a recent replacement with a brand new battery. The previous owner used the leaf for daily cross country drives with loads of fast charging, and as a consequence was having battery issues. He decided to get all the battery modules replaced and put the car for sale.

While buying the car, I checked with leafspy, it had an SOH of 98%, which is the reason I decided to buy it despite the high milage. The car rides as good as new, with no creaks or noises, and shows the excellent build quality of Leafs. I am getting a consumption of less than 12 Kwh/100 kms and extremely pleased with the car. I will take it for the first long distance out of city drive this weekend.

I have to translate that into miles/kWh so just over 5 miles per kWh which is very good. I think mine is hovering around the 4.9 miles/kWh which is also decent for 55° North

Yes thats right. I always drive in B mode with gradual acceleration and slowing down and drive upto 100 km/hr (62 mph). The warm weather also helps. This car was bought as a second car for my wife to drive 50 kms daily to and fro from office, but since we have it the C5 hardly gets driven. Infact last week I needed to jump start my C5 battery for lack of use! Eventually I will replace my C5 with a longer range Electric Car, but the only viable option I see today is Kia e-niro 64 Kwh which is still pretty expensive second hand. I am not in a hurry. Also I do not like SUVs so will wait couple of years till nice EV sedans become affordable. The likes of ioniq 6 and Volkswagon ID.7 only launched in the market this year and are the only EVs that can be even considered to replace the C5.

The leaf basically replaced the Xantia which i donated to a brazilian construction worker in lieu of painting my house!

Today I test drove a Citroen e-C4 X with the progressive hydraulic cushion. I must say i was really impressed with the suspension, and this is something I could accept as a replacement for my C5. Very stable ride, slightly wafty and smooth over all kinds of bumps with good dampening. I find the leaf very comfortable too but slightly underdamped.

Its a pity the e-C4 X has only a 50 Kwh battery compared to many cars with bigger battery out there (eg. Kia e-Niro with 64 Kwh Battery). I will probably wait a few years till i find the perfect C5 electric replacement at a reasonable price.

I love the sofa like wide seats and the soft ride of my C5 2005. Car design has been getting worse and worse with the passing years. I just cant understand these trends:

- Making the front of cars Boxy/SUVish and less aerodynamic and ugly. I wonder if people really like these boxy fronts! Why are car makers making them!

- Making cars wider and then wasting all that extra space on a huge centre console. Centre consoles are getting higher too making for lesser leg room.

- The seats are just getting worse and worse. Why do regular cars need thick side bolstering that presses your butt. The seat backs now have now those side protrusions pressing against your arms. Why cant i get my C5 like seats, open wide just like a sofa.

- Putting bigger and bigger screens so that doing basic tasks become more cumbersome. And all that sun reflection to deal with off the big screens.

- Making ergonomics worse and trying to fix things that arnt broken. While test driving a Tesla Model S, I just couldnt use the Yoke that replaces the steering wheel and the indicator buttons that replace the indicator stalk. in the roundabout, balancing the stalk with one hand you must chase the left indicator button as the steering spins around. How come people pay so much money for these ill designed toys.

- The more expensive the car the rougher it rises and the harder the suspension.

Sometimes I wonder, if I am an outcast for liking simple comfortable cars. Or is it that I am too out of touch with the tastes of the masses.
