Just got back in to see the results of my little question this morning!! Nicely put together Neil, sorry I didn't crack it but as it happens the only cricket pitch with a tree I knew was at Woodside in Watford 55 years ago

and I don't drink whiskey or whisky so no chance with that!!

However as I'm sure everyone knows the answer is correct!!
Now the story which generated the picture:
At the end of April I was looking to replace the dahlias I had ruined, with the late removal of the covering sheet, with something which would spread and fill the bed, and preferably be perennial. After much searching I came up with Gaillardia 'Sun' as an ideal option:

The plants had come to my notice in an auction at one of the auction houses I use a fair bit, so I placed my bids and won five of them.
I collected and planted them on 2nd May and they grew exceedingly well until they began to produce the flower buds which were completely the wrong shape. I investigated and discovered that I had the Kent ringers so I waited for the flowers to open before photographing them and then asking the auction house for a refund. They looked at the picture I posted first and agreed that they had mis-catalogued them and I was entitled to a full refund including the fees so I have today been there to have the refund put back on my card!!
Meanwhile I get to keep the plants as they are now too big to return so I am on the lookout for the originals I wanted to plant around them!!
Not to mention that another reality is that part of the garden has now become rather overwhelmed with purple and white!!
