Good to see the exhaust tips have the rolled edges - I lost mine years ago when a new exhaust was put in.

I sent you a PM regarding your Helix clutch - I contacted them to see if they could make me one, but it looks like they're having trouble finding the correct parts.

Hi Edwin,
I’ve tried several times to send a pm, can’t seem to make it work. Here are the part numbers for the clutch Helix supplied me
Cover assy. 60-4820
Cerametalic drive plate. 77-4811
Release bearing. 40-4330
Hope that helps,

Cheers Chris

The PM stays in your outbox until it is opened by the recipient, then moves to the sent box.

Thanks Chris, this is indeed very helpful.

The lady I spoke to mentioned it might be one of the Lotus Esprit clutch kits, and I guess she was correct. It’s interesting that it’s the one for the Renault gearbox and not the Citroën SM gearbox. My next challenge is to see if they can tell me whether or not the pressure plate has space for the timing lug on my Turbo 1 flywheel (which yours obviously doesn’t have). From what I can tell the Esprit used a different method for working out the ignition timing, so it might not have that gap.

How are you finding the paddle clutch - not too on/off for daily use? I was thinking of getting the standard type.

Lots and lots of progress, although doing this project outside in the recent weather has been ‘challenging’.......
I should be getting the A/C pipes from the stand alone unit fitted this week, one to the drier bottle that’s already installed and we’ll leave the other one ‘long’. This way, I can re-plumb the water, and finally ‘button up’ the bulkhead area, fit the ducting inside and get it all blowing properly. Because I want to keep the interior looking completely standard, and because this heater A/C unit requires that the water is isolated before the A/C is turned on, I’ve converted the hot-cold dial on the centre vent to run a length of bike brake cable that still works in a rotary fashion, like the dial, but pulls/pushes so can be attached to the on-off water valve as it entered the heater unit, and yes, I’ve plumbed in an H piece ‘upstream’ so the engine still circulates water...!

I’ve also been hard at work on the exterior appearance as the car is booked in for paint in about 5weeks!!!!
So, brand new bootlid, and very good bonnet and 4 very good ‘Turbo’ doors with all the correct trim, etc and working electric windows and central locking.

So, another really big day for this project today. Drove the 140odd miles from home to Emerald in Norfolk for full mapping of the ECU and perhaps a bit more boost....😬
Dave, Karl, Keith and Leoni were all superb. After a few initial shinanegens trying to tie a large floaty front wheel drive barge to the rollers, off we went
After cleaning up the base map and checking temps and pressures, Dave did a base run with cleaned up fuel and spark, and hey presto, around 180ish bhp, pretty much as standard. We ended the day on 215bhp and 275 lbs/ft torque, which is by far the more important figure on these old barges
Drove home again and the car is superb, and, ah, hmm... FAST! It’s just like a CX turbo only more so, it just sort of hauls in the horizon at an increasingly alarming pace. Marvellous. Still lots to do but this was a very big tick. More than chuffed

Lots and lots of progress. I’ve redone the headlining and had the A,B,C and other interior trim pieces ‘flocked’, the results are STUNNING!

Tell us about the flocking - who, where, cost?
And a few more pics, of course.
Looking increasingly splendid!
