Re: Activa procured!
If the main Hydractive fuse blows, this will disable the suspension ECU.
Under this condition
- no self-diagnosis possible*
- suspension operates solely in Firm mode (because EVs are off, with no power from the ECU).
(Any suspension springing will come just from the four wheel spheres, and will be Firm.)
* No 'higher up' diagnosis is installed, unless Lexia or similar is used, which will show the fault.
The only clue is the absence of the Suspension light coming on briefly, when you switch the IGN on.

Re: Activa procured!
When I picked it up and drove it home (240 miles!) It was very firm, if you hit a bump it felt like the suspension hardly moved, if at all, like it was in high.
Feels a lot softer though I'll need to drive it to be sure

Day 3
We have working Central Locking, which in turn means the osr door now opens and closes
The locking module was unplugged; Also did a few more rounds of Citrobics and got it up to temperature.
Any ideas why this light is always on?
Has been since I've had the car

Re: Activa procured!
I must look for a clock for you Liam... I'm sure I have one...
The alarm light being always on may be connected with why the Central Locking/Alarm module was disconnected... I should know but I'm not cognitively good currently

Did the alarm light only come on when you plugged the Central Locking/Alarm ECU back in?
I may have a spare Central Locking/Alarm ECU here too...
Where do you live? If not too far from me you are welcome to come and see me, have a session of ELIT diagnostics and raid my spares stash for stuff you may need...

Re: Activa procured!
The alarm light has been on ever since I've had the car, and probably long before!
I think I need to get to the alarm module under the seat and see if its been wet. The nsr window wasn't fully closed when I got it which may have been why it was both mouldy and full of leaves
I'm between Ilkley and Bingley in West Yorkshire

Re: Activa procured!
Ahh yes, that's tripped my memory! If you look under the passenger footwell carpet you'll find a multi-way connector under a plastic cover in the corner of the footwell near the bottom of the A Pillar... This connector corrodes badly if there's any damp under there and often it's swimming under the footwell carpets due to windscreen scuttle panel leaks... A very common fault - do a search on itCento16v wrote: 04 May 2021, 06:52 I think I need to get to the alarm module under the seat and see if its been wet. If this connector is corroded it'll upset the alarm system and often the central locking too... It carries a lot of wiring for both...
That's a world away from me sadly but if you ever find yourself travelling down the M1 and near J14 pop in and see me... I'm retired so often home... If not I'm either out running or cycling... A warm welcome is always assured...

Re: Activa procured!
Just bought a brand new! Bonnet, a parcel shelf, some LHM, and some UPol Primer.
Someone I follow on twitter is to be spraying their car (ZX) with Montana White Spray paint, and I may follow suit as a temporary measure, as its so corrosion free, I want to protect it as much as I can.
If the bumper and bonnet turn out OK, I'll give it a go and spray it I think.
Not sure whether to go bright red or sunset orange
.
If I get plenty of paint on it at least I can cut it back, it can't look worse than it does now!

Re: Activa procured!
Just remember that these cars rust from the inside outwards - so it's vital that all cavities, underside and inner-wing spaces are waxed.
I'd prioritise something like a Sealey SG18 cavity wax gun, and a compressor, over a topside repaint, if you're into diy and want to keep the car for some time. The SG18 will spray/inject any of the waxes on the market, and makes the job easy.

Re: Activa procured!
It has been looked after and has been undersealed in the past.
Having had a poke around, the one thing it doesn't appear to have it any rust somehow!
It will be staying for richer or poorer so I want to do my best to preserve it

Re: Activa procured!
Undersealed is good, but it's inside the sills and cavities that is critical, and might not have been done. Worth checking.

Haha at least my cat is black, and she stinks the house out enough when she poops in her igloo so I might get away with that

Re: Activa procured!
Bonnet and Parcel Shelf Turned up today, I now have a complete interior! Woohoo!
The bonnet must be for a very early car as it has holes for the bonnet badge, I'll have to fill and smooth those before painting.
Also topped the LHM up as my LHM arrived, on high the little float is exactly where it should be now, no more stop light flickering on High, job done!
Brake light bulb turned up so I've fit that, I'd say it's almost road worthy now
