Activa procured!

Unread post by Cento16v »

Evening FCF.

Anyone know of any Activas for sale that need saving.

Finally cleared my garage out so I've got space for one in there to stay there forever!

The supply of Xantias seems to have dried up entirely, and as tempted as I am by the BX GTi on ebay, I know I'll still want an Activa, as I have since my dad had one when I was 10!

Let me know if you do see one anywhere please 😀

Cheers

Liam

I guess there was one!

Nice to meet you Hilary, just got home, that was a long way!

Suspension is stuck in hard mode, and it needs a respray and a new interior so should keep me busy for a little while at least!

On the lookout for an interior now, and a set of Spheres!

I've found a electoral equivalent kit on ebay I've been advised to buy but the chap is away currently.

Also need to sort out the central locking, the steering wheel isn't central so it needs tracking, and lots more.

Will keep me out the pubs when they reopen for a while at least 😂

Be careful with the centring of the steering. The clock spring for the airbag/radio controls does not have a lot of spare travel, and is easily damaged if over-wound, so if the steering rack is mis-centred, or the steering wheel fitted at the wrong spline, you can easily damage the clock spring, and good replacements are now difficult to find.

I have had one destroyed because the garage doing a wheel alignment did not understand this and moved the steering wheel to compensate for a mis-centred rack.

Safe to say I'll be busy for a while yet!

I'll get it cleaned up first of all, then get the suspension working, and go from there!

Gosh! State of that interior

Following with interest :)

I still have a load of Activa-specific spares here so whatever you need, let me know and I'll see if I can help..

Sadly, I don't have a good interior for you...

Oh thats good to know, I'll be in touch I imagine!

Got a couple of quotes for getting all the spheres replaced, ordered a Hydractive repair kit off ebay, I've bought a proper Activa bumper as well.

I think the first thing will be to get the interior out and see if it cleans up! I've bought some masks as I don't fancy breathing all that stuff in, so once they turn up, out it comes!

So, I'm going to book the old girl in for a full set of spheres as when I drove it back from Gloucester it had all the suspension you'd expect of a skateboard 😂

I'm in Ilkley so I think Westroen may be my best bet, they said about £400 for all of them which didn't sound bad tbh!

The suspension at the front seems like the spheres are fully flat as there is no damping at all.

Car rises and falls properly and no stop light and it cornered flatly on the way home.

Anything to check before I book it in?
