hi marc, this is a link to an image of the heater box and the hole i was talking about emitting cold air. i'd just like to understand what this is before dismantling further . vin number is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
there is nothing to go on it and the floor heater duct is above. there is no matching hole on the n/s.
I don't know if this is the correct way to post an image. Will.
There is a small hose from your glove compartment box that will fit onto that hole, you can duct it and close the lid inside the glove compartment box! :)

glovebox chiller! thats exellent . Just like to say big thanks to everyone for your help and share with you my heater matrix cleaning method. Overnight soak in vinegar and strap to a 25 ton piece of quarry equipment for one hour. Heater sorted, thanks again. Will.

If I could just trouble you with another roughly related issue, i recently fitted a new thermostat housing whilst working on the heater. afterwards i was checking the air con [which i'd just repaired] and found it failing. whilst trying to determain the gas situation i foolishly bridged the contacts on the pressure sensor plug. ever sincse it is showing maf sensor faults, both low and high flow. the fault appears straight away after clearing the codes and starting the engine. I've tried replacing the sensor , first a cheap one and then not a cheap one with no result. worried that i may have damaged ecu. i've checked all the fuses. My next step was going to be if there is any power going to the maf plug.

Image sorry to hijack the thread but could someone confirm if this is the pipe to the heating matrix? It's the drivers side and feels cold. Symptoms are no heating on drivers side (RHD).

can't tell from that picture but its odds on matrix blocked. it's not difficult to get out ( access interior n/s) When out put hot water in and see where its hot.

Is the matrix usually covered by warranty? I've been on to the dealer and they reckon citroen may not cover a matrix as they don't usually do radiator parts that have been effected by corrosion?

Is the "sludge" that seems to be causing the problems actually considered corrosion? Give the fact the matrix part has changed slightly - isn't that grounds that they should cover it under warranty as its a defective design?

You'll probably find that this is down to the air mixing flap motors. Depending on system fitted, there will be both air distribution and air mixing flaps. Sometimes the plastic cogs or the spindles wear out. So the motor turns the spindle to adjust the flaps, but where the plastic is worn, it just turns and can't move the flap - so the air mixing remains at the same setting (when engine warms up of course).

If you post your VIN up I can check the system you have fitted.
Can you Please let me know." plastic cogs or the spindles " can be replaced, if yes the part no will be very helpful, as my garage said I should replace the whole unit and they have quoted me £1800 for that replacement :(
