I didn't expect to find this when I investigated my substitute daughter's squeal: :)

I've been looking through some old nature pics and I came across these two, both from a mediterranean cruise a few years ago. If I remember correctly the lizard was on Crete and the chicks in Cephalonia! :)

Well Mick, would your daughter have been influenced in her Japanese Vehicle Choice by her dad?
If so then out of the remaining obvious Japanese Makers

NISSAN, Mitsubishi, Honda, Subaru, Diahatsu, Isuzu, Suzuki, and Mazda

I would favour Mazda.....although Suzuki's these days on value for money are quite popular.

Final answer.....you will have to do the reveal and I claim ony 100 points for getting the country right :-D

An interesting and logical sequence to your almost correct conclusion!! While I did my best to convince her to have an MX3 she pointed out that it was "too damn small!!" So we decided that as my partner has a Celerio which she is very happy with, then Suzuki was the way to go, remembering my bike, and she picked the SX. I completed the replacement of the pads today and the squeal is gone but I have a nasty feeling that there is a very slight bend in the caliper bearer as I had a struggle lining up the mounting bolts. That may, with use, have caused the drastically asymetric wear on the pads but time will tell. They are braking fine at the moment!! 150 points awarded, you did pick out Suzuki with Mazda!! :-D

There is a random link between these pictures, one is at a cafe/restaurant at Blyth, the other a Pub in Kelso.

The link is in the spoiler.....more of a stream of consciousness courtesy of yours truly :-D
Spoiler: show
Yes it starts with driving past a new housing development at Blyth with a road called "Albatross Road". How ridiculous....when was the last Albatross seen in Blyth?.......A cormorant flies past as we are having our coffee overlooking the river. Why wasn't the road named Cormorant road? Much more appropriate.

As far as namings go the Cormorant gets a raw deal. How many pubs are named the White Swan, or Black Swan, The Pheasant, The Blackbird etc but is there one pub called "The Cormorant" :?: I doubt it.

Anyway when I saw the rather austere and forboding Black Swan in Kelso I had to take a picture of it. I mean when was the last Black Swan seen in Kelso? About the same time the last Albatross was seen in Blyth. Dawlish yes, Perth in Western Australia yes...but not Kelso. :-D

By my reckoning, from that picture location, you are a mere 14 miles away from the AA box at HalfWay house on the A3052 Exeter-Sidmouth Road.

Peter.N. Was the first with a pic, and his Merc, although Van had discovered it too but doesnt do Pics!

https://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/ ... 39#p602939

Exact location on Street View.....going from Exeter on A3052 direction Sidmouth, pass the Halfway Inn on the left, the junctions to left and right and its just past the end of speed limit sign in a layby to the right.

Was finally able to get the poor thing a decent wash today so grabbed a few photos while it was clean.

Was quite pleased with how this pair came out looking.
