Citroen - Relay - Bluetooth problems
Hi I have an English '59 plate Relay van.
Just recently my Bluetooth with my phone has been playing up. It links each time I’m in the van, but then during a call and at random, a high frequency comes over the speakers. The only way to get this off is press the Main button in the centre console. If I hang up the call using the phone the sound persists.
By pressing the main button, the noise stops but the call remains connected but now I have to use the phone or it’s internal speaker. Bluetooth for van is no longer available until I restart the van.
I have a iPhone 7 which has worked fine in the vehicle and works fine in my car...Ford.
I’m guessing the Bluetooth module of the van needs replacing...but I have no idea where this located or what it is I seek?
It may also require a system update inline with Apple?
Thanks for any help

If you PM or post your VIN up I can determine the options fitted for your vehicle.

Just send me a Private Message - something obviously isn't working somewhere at your end:
Just click here on the speech bubble: Then click the left hand icon: This will open up a private message window already addressed to me. Just type or paste your VIN and hit 'submit'. Job done and I will get it instantly.

Re: Citroen - Relay - Bluetooth problems
Ok, so now I have your VIN.
I'll be straight upfront here. This van is a Jumper III - joint PSA / FIAT collaboration with the Ford Puma engine! These are also similar to the Fiat Ducato vans.
As such, they are not true PSA systems, so I have no information or documentation on these. What I can tell you is:
1) It is a Blaupunkt system radio made for Fiat, part 1 in the diagram below.
2) According to the specs for your vehicle, I cannot see a bluetooth module listed, but the part is shown as part number 15 in the diagram above and is just referred to as 'Box'!
3) Part 15 in the diagram is commonly fitted to Peugeot Boxer, Ducato, Relay (Jumper) MK3 and is a Bluetooth Handsfree Module ECU. So it is this part that will handle the calls and bluetooth functionality and pass this on to the audio system.
So was this module (part 15) retro-fitted to the van at a later date or was it factory fitted to start with? The reason I ask is that if it was fitted at a later date, was it correctly coded and configured to the vehicle properly. If it was original or has been correctly coded, then I suspect that it is faulty - OR may need an update. How this is done will either be through an upgrade using the USB key or via a dealer level diagnostic tool like Diagbox and a firmware update via the PSA servers - if in fact it is possible to update this unit. Only the dealer will be able to advise you of this.
Here is a link to a replacement module - but I wouldn't want to advise that you replace it without first checking the route cause:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-Peug ... 3207074923
I would also suggest that you delete the phone that is paired from the system and try re-pairing it again. I note you have an iPhone 7 - so what version of IOS is the iPhone on? If you have updated the iPhone to IOS 11 - it is full of bugs and has rendered thousands of iPhones unusable (especially the iPhone 6 series). IOS 11.2 has just been released to the public - you may want to try that as there were issues with bluetooth connectivity. Having said that - sometimes updating is not always a good thing if the newer updates cause compatibility problems with your van's older bluetooth software.
So if you already have IOS 11 on your iPhone, then you cannot go back to IOS 10 now as Apple have stopped signing that firmware. So make sure you have the latest IOS 11 update. Secondly, after you have updated it to 11.2, delete and re-pair the phone with the VAN again.
Next, if that has not improved matters, you can try one more thing - Go to your iPhone - SETTINGS, GENERAL, RESET and choose the RESET ALL SETTINGS option. This won't touch your Apps, but will reset all the network and bluetooth and some other settings. You'll need to re-enter your wifi passwords and check your privacy and notification settings - but has been shown to make a vast improvement to many iPhones.
Then try and repair the iPhone to the van again after first deleting the existing pairing. Be aware that it may take a while for the address book to re-synchronise.
Regards
Marc

Re: Citroen - Relay - Bluetooth problems
Thanks for all the details.
This obviously looks like the console I have
I have tried the re pairing weeks back, but same prob
Oddly enough an update with apple maybe 2 months back and the followin* day the problem occurred, whether by chance or is the problem. However my phone continues to work with my 59 plate Ford Focus with zero problems
I have tried via the menu on the van to run an update, which runs for 5mins, then comes up with an error, something similar to ‘update fail/error’
Like you suggest, maybe a module update, as I suspect Citroen will want £100’s and then tell me to replace it
Thanks for detailed info
No related but also have a prob with left indicator and left brake light. Bulbs changed, bulb holder changed, Relay changed (located in right rear column), as had loose connection....the fault is intermittent and therefore a loose wire. I drill per this down to the right column and a light cluster wire problem, changed the plug to the cluster and still a loose connection, but can’t figure out where. #painful... in short the left does not work, because a loose connection in the right !
As a side question, are these consoles upgradeable, I.e swap out for a better audio system/gps or other ?

Re: Citroen - Relay - Bluetooth problems
Hi,
I bought a replacement module, installed it and paired.
My initial problem is/was still there and the tone almost happened immediately. I also noticed now i have changed the module the mileage flashes on the dash board, presumably because they are not synced. Any idea how to stop this?
i also tried the update (on both modules) which is found under settings and both modules come up with a config error? Any ideas on this too?
Thanks

Nemo enterprise Bluetooth not working
Hello
Ive just joined and I am after some help with my 2014 Citroen Nemo Enterprise, I only bought the van two weeks ago and noticed the mileage was flashing but didn't think anything of it. Anyway after it became apparent that this meant it had an electrical fault and needs proxy alignment and think it was called.
So I had that done by a friend who has the right computer software to do it, and although the mileage has stoped flashing, the bluetooth still doesn't work.
I have checked fuse 36 I think it was and that is perfectly fine, when my friend did the proxy alignment it never came up with a telematics unit. Im guessing it is the module underneath the drivers seat.
Is there anyway of testing this theory before buying a new module?
Or does anyone else have any more ideas on what it could be?
Thanks

The head units are generally coded to the vehicle - so you will need an appropriate diagnostic tool to do this. Now as these are Fiat based units, you might have some luck speaking to somebody that can pair it - or find somebody with Diagbox, that has the S1279 module add on that is used to talk to the commercial vehicles with Fiat components.

Well I'm very much here and active - but not sure how much help I can be on these - a VIN will help me first of all so I can see what kit you have on the vehicle.
