But first I need to rotate the tensioner anti clockwise.

Are specialist tools needed? And can this job be possible working from the top of the engine only?

The tensioner pulley, it's ends, no hex nut seems to be there. To use a socket tool perhaps?

Replaced the gear linkage rods on my 2000 W plate Saxo. The car has only done 27,000 miles as was in storage for years. No unusual noises from the clutch or gearbox (crunching, etc). First gear was stiff before the new linkage and now after as well. Greased everywhere I can access.

My 2010 Berlingo wont start. Shows a Camshaft sensor fault.
Camshaft Sensor, Crank sensor both changed.
When clearing fault it just returns when attempting to start again.
My next step is to send ECU off to be checked.

Has anyone dealt with anything similiar and could point me in the right direction?

I've had a bit of a strange issue with the C5 remote locking today, on the face of it the remote locking stopped working. The first thing I checked was with a spare key, still not working, then I checked the fuse in the car, and while sat in the car it worked.. Great! Or so I thought. My 2008 1.6HDi Xsara Piccaso almost certainly has a fuel system problem, given that power delivery is inconsistent on accelerating, and low fuel rail pressure is coming up on diagnostics. The engine will cut out with only a minute or so of increasing juddering to warn me, so is not safe to drive, though it has not yet failed to start from cold....
