Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Not super cheap, but then not bad either, they do Activa spheres off the shelf too, also managed to find my Activa rear droplink at almost half dealer price that i could not find anywhere over here.

Priced in euro's

Even do engine parts, piston ring sets, big and small ends etc etc, going to be worth keeping this in mind soon.

This is a very useful link showing how to disassemble a Bosch VE20 diesel pump.

It's an early non-turbo version but it still holds good for the VE20/AS3 as used on Citroen and Peugeot 1.9TD engines.

Don't have subscription to service.citroen.

Just click the upper right hand box to change language to English if needed, then follow the cues to register for each - it's free. You can't run both at once, and they will email you different user codes. It's what Alan would tell you to do!

Unfortunately (or is it typically?) the database can be slow to be updated. It took appx 10 days for mine to appear.

As you say, it's not clever if the ANPR system flags you as uninsured. Worse scenario I read about was a woman and kids were sent to find their way home by other means as the police that stopped them would not all them to drive...

i had lots of fun trying to find a source of clear fuel pipe couldnt find a motor factors or retailer(halfrauds) who stocked it.

Unsure as to which device I needed for my 2001 Saxo, I e-mailed several suppliers.

I was advised to buy a U480 which covers a multitude of protocols and software ( OBD , OBDII and CAN-BUS amongst them). I eventually made my purchase ( ebay item: 8064623101 ) and am happy to report that it does exactly what it says on the tin and all for under £40...

Thats brought some old memorys back.

Was told about this by an old fella mechanic when I was an apprentice, It's they way they gave knacked plugs another lease of life while he was in the army.

Never did it myself but it was the first thing he did when he bought plugs for his own cars , cut the plugs just over the electrode.

I make no apologies for plugging Westroen Spheres in Manchester - I had the Xantia spheres done a year back and have been having problems with a firmer than I would like ride and sinking rear - Took the car back today and Doug took the old ones off, checked the pressures (all good) and then swapped the rears for estate ones - no charge for the...
