Peugeot 407 2.0 HDi - Aisin AM6 6-Speed Transmission delay (3rd to 4th Gear)

Unread post by Tharaka407 »

Hi everyone,

I need some advice regarding the Aisin AM6 (TF-80SC) 6-speed automatic transmission on my Peugeot 407 2.0 HDi. The car has covered 151,000 KM.

I recently changed the transmission fluid, but I am experiencing a severe shifting issue specifically between 3rd and 4th gear. When moving from 3rd to 4th, the gearbox completely loses drive and goes into a "Neutral" feeling. The engine RPM shoots up rapidly, and it stays unengaged for about 2 to 5 seconds. After that delay, it suddenly and instantly slams/engages into 4th gear. Once it's in 4th, the car drives perfectly normal.

Because it feels like a total loss of hydraulic pressure during the handover from 3rd to 4th, I suspect the valve body or the specific C2 clutch linear solenoid is failing.

Has anyone experienced this prolonged 5-second flare on the AM6 box? Is the valve body completely shot, or is there a specific solenoid kit / software adaptation reset that can save it?

Thanks for your help!
