How Adblue warnings are displayed.

Unread post by CitROeNALD »

I was just wondering if someone can confirm how adblue messages are normally displayed on the c4 grand picaso/spacetourer MK2, specifically the one with the e-ink speedo display.

According to the manual:

Service notifications are static and just have the spanner and a solid mileage count until next service

and

Anything related to the adblue will feature a beep and flashing of a mileage.

Can anyone confirm this is the case, or have had experience of that on the e-ink type displays.

Also, I remember reading differing mileage values at which the adblue message appears (one being normal, the other indicating a more serious issue). Can anyone confirm the normal mileage distances the warnings start at.

Thank you.

Not sure why you are questioning the manual, but as you are I would advise calling in to your dealer and asking the service manager to explain it :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Ours is 2017 facelift - not sure what e-ink is? We get:

Normal warning for fill up, get the 3 beeps at key on and a written message saying fill up AdBlue, and countdown from 1500 miles to no start. I think service lit, and AdBlue illuminated at top right of display.

Warning for fault. 3 beeps and emissions fault at key on. Service and adblue initially lit. After a few miles countdown starts for no start in 700 miles, AdBlue light flashing, service lit. Maybe engine management light. No start warning flashes up every 5 seconds or so.

In km the warnings might be 2000 and 1000 km.

I know about the latter fault lights as we have it on ours at the moment...non specific Comms fault code, but internet suggests it's the Nox sensor. Need to get a spanner on it and see if it is at all interested in coming out...

It was a coincidence of things that made me slightly confused.

My adblue tank is usually filled on a service, but I was not convinced they did it last time.

So for the first time I opened it to check myself and on the first start after doing this I got a spanner and a 1700 mile indicator when turning the car on. This made me think that somehow opening the adblue tank to check and somehow triggered or made the car decide it needed adblue (pressure change or something).

So I was just double checking how it is normally displayed as I have never had an adblue level check before.

It seems that it was just complete coincidence and coincided with my service countdown.

The e-ink display is the basic dash display in some models that looks black and white.

But it seems that urea light would also appear if it was that along with a message on the colour screen below.

Like in that screenshot ^.

Thanks for the replies.
