Which diagnostics service.

Unread post by Peter Palmer »

Hi, I'm pretty familiar with the citroen/peugot software and have done various things with it without too many problems. But a Friend has asked if I can take a look at her Renault, think its a Capture diesel 2013 ish. They have said there is a fault with the DPF side of things.

Couple of questions, for the diagbox software I found a free version of version 9.68 and it all seemed to work fine, I already had the lead which also works. So is there something similar I can find on the net for Renaults and will the citroen VCI lead work with it? Its not worth buying a ful software suite and lead just for one job so if its not possible the cheap way I might tell her to just get an Icar soft one for about £100, if it will re-set DPF lights.

The older Renault dealer tool is CLIP & the latest one is Consult. I have no idea when the changeover year is as to what one you would need. I doubt the Diagboc VCI would be compatible.
Most half decent generic diag tools should be able to deal with DPF issues on something this age.

Ok cheers, that what I thought to be honest, I've got one of those icar soft ones for my Audi and it works very well, just a pity you can't swap the sd cards and use them for different makes.
