New to forum, but not Citroen!

A forum for new members to introduce themselves to the rabble already onboard. Not compulsory!
Tell us a little about yourself, lie if you have to but keep it to just an introduction, not a car discussion.

New to forum, but not Citroen!

Unread post by Robin Brian »

Hi all. Now in my 70's and retiring next week - for the third time! I have been charmed by Citroen since my 20's when I drove a DS and loved it's quirky engineering. Soon appreciated the quality of their thinking and the soundness of their engineering. Some time passed (with a flirting involvement with a 2CV, belonging to the then ladyfriend) and my next Ciroen purchase was a 3 year old XM. 2.5 diesel VSX estate. I picked it up very cheap, compared to others available because it had multiple faults and the garages would not touch it. Without writing a book about it I sorted it and did 248,000 miles in it before the head cracked across and sold it after repair to buy a 58 plate C5 Exclusive saloon. In the meantime I had 3 company car Xantias, purchasing the last one when I left. I needed a big estate so, traded the C5 for Volvo V70. After a year with that I started looking for another C5 but the tourer. Soon learning the good ones were rare as hens teeth. Now I have one!!! 60 plate 2.0l exclusive fully loaded one previous lady owner with full Citroen history. That members is not a joke, it's absolutely true. Paid slightly over the odds for it but despite its history it does have a few issues. I am working on those as I write. So I will be seeking collective wisdom in due course...... Wishing you all much success in what ever you do and thanking you you for accepting my membership. Robin

Hi Robin and :welc:

Have a good look round the forum from the Board Index link, click on the main banner above, and join in whatever interests you. Apart from car topics there are many other things being covered in the Off Topic Chat Lounge where you will find threads to educate, entertain and even amuse you. Make the most of it!! :-D
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
