C4 Grand Picasso MK1 - Headlights turn on by themselves

Unread post by Pistoleroo »

Hello

I have a problem with the headlights after repairing the parking brake under the seat.

Similar to this topic: viewtopic.php?t=58844 my headlights turn on by themselves after about 1 minute (it doesn't matter if the car is locked or just the doors are closed). When all the lights on the board go out, after a while you can hear a click and the lights come on.

The BCM module has been replaced - without effect.

The electrician is helpless - he gave up.

I'm also losing patience, because I have to constantly remove the connector from the battery and not lock the car.

I'm looking for an exact car lighting diagram to know which module and which pins (or wire colors) are responsible for the headlight signal. I'll make a bypass on the light harness itself and put a two-section switch in the dashboard. The switch will manually cut off the power to the lights when the car is turned off.

I've been looking for some tips here on the forum but unfortunately I haven't found anything.
Can I count on help with the electrical diagram?

Grand Picasso 2006 1.8 M/T

If this behaviour started immediately after working on the handbrake, then you should back track there - what exactly was done? Everything should turn off when the BSI powers down 30 seconds or so after power off, for them to turn on would require an input to power up a relay - unless you have something crossed and a relay working backwards, or something putting power on an earth circuit.

Yesterday I called the mechanic to ask exactly what he did - my mistake. The clutch slave cylinder and clutch pump were replaced. To replace the clutch release bearing, the battery was removed from the engine compartment and the battery base was dismantled. After the repair, because the area around the slave cylinder was splashed with DOT-4 after bleeding, this area was pressure washed (but it was about 5-6 months ago, so the suspicion that there is water somewhere is unlikely - the car is garaged).
