P13C2 Voltage Retaining Device short to ground

Unread post by Olli_tr »

I've got a permanent P13C2 error on my 3008. Does anyone have more description of this fault code and ideas on where to troubleshoot first?

If I am not mistaken it's start/stop capacitor fault. Check fuses and wires to start stop system. First check the fuses. About wires, there is one wire coming from negative terminal on the battery. That sometimes is broken while changing the battery and check wires coming to the capacitor for the start/stop system.

If start/stop is working, then ignore my post.

Thanks! You're absolutely right, it's related to start/stop and it's not working. My 3008 has the start/stop with reinforced starter and not the start/stop with reversible alternator (that much I learned from looking at servicebox), ie. it does not have an ultracapacitor, just the voltage maintaining device that has the task of keeping the voltage at a correct level.

Based on the wiring diagrams on the negative terminal of the battery there's indeed something called Battery Charge Status Unit that has a grey wire coming to pin 4 of the 6-way connector on the voltage retaining device. I'll inspect that more carefully!
