508 RHX hybrid 4 parking sensors

Unread post by Pepe autotechnics »

Hi I’m after some advice, I have a Peugeot 508 hybrid 4 2014 and had a parking sensor fault on n/s/r outer open circuit, I have replaced the sensor with an aftermarket non genuine sensor and now I have the fault that says sensor fault positioning so I have replaced the sensor with another new aftermarket sensor and it says same fault, so I removed a front left outer sensor and fitted it to the rear where the fault was and now the fault incorrect positioning fault has moved to the left front, do you think it’s still a sensor problem and I need to use a genuine sensor as the fault follows to where I move the sensor??

You should be aware that there are different types of these sensors used if you have blind spot monitoring / semi-auto parking, specifically the outermost front and rear sensors on the wheel arches. These are not the same as the sensors used for the main parking assistance at front and rear.

The sensors I have replaced look the same as the one taken off, I thought that if they were different they would be slightly different fitting

No, you cannot just assume that - they look the same but may not be. Best to check with your dealer as on a lot of later models they are different, like my Aircross.
