I am stuck 😔
Hi all.
Trying to replace the thermostat on 5008 2.0 hdi 2011... Everything came off apart from that bolt that clamps the hose at the back of thermostat ,the one that has a fork... Its very awkward to get to with any spanner.... And frankly after few attempts the bolt might be slightly rounded
Any tips to get out of this pickle?
Thanks

Where does the hose go? Can you take the stat out with the hose attached and sort it out on the bench?

Its a connection that splits into two hoses and they go to the heater connection in the bulkhead.RichardW wrote: 02 Dec 2024, 21:18 Where does the hose go? Can you take the stat out with the hose attached and sort it out on the bench?
I undid one of the bulkhead hoses metal clip and removed it only to find out there is another one underneath it with even tighter space.
I think the only option I have is to disconnect those hoses from bulkhead , its all by feel as i can see the clips , all hidden under scuttle panel

Removing the scuttle shouldn't be too hard, and it gives you masses more access.

I dont think both pipes go to bulkhead ,only one... Another is rigid plastic pipe going behind engine.
Never had a problem changing a stat in any other make of cars ,this is my first Peugeot and so far every job has been a pain

The usual rule is that the apparent PITA way that looks like it will take twice as long is the way to do it, and apparent shortcuts will only end in delays and a world of pain!

Not sure on PSA recommended torque, but this will give you the general spec
Thanx to Marc and all the admins & knowledgeable people that make this the best forum on the interweb.

If the engine code is DW10 series and the orange rubber gasket, then, according to Haynes repair manual, it should be 1st stage: 4 Nm and 2nd stage: 8 Nm. Otherwise follow instructions of 13.08 min of video, where Allan just screw bolts by feel. The irony is on 8.42 min, how easy is to remove the metal clamb.amazighman wrote: 04 Dec 2024, 20:57 Can anyone help with the Torque specs for the thermostat bolts?
