Citroen DS5 What Gearbox?

Unread post by PL155CM »

Hi there

New to the forum.

Trying to find new driveshafts for my 2014 DS5 1.6 HDi.

I am trying to figure out what gearbox is in my car. It’s automatic, but I have read some info about different versions of the auto box, and also an automated manual box.

Is there a way to tell what box you have?

Note I think my car model is actually:

DS5 E-HDI AIRDREAM DSTYLE EGS

The gearstick is just a small stubby thing, not like a normal stick.

I’m assuming this may be the automated manual. Is this the ETG6 gearbox??

If it only has RNAM on the selector lever then it is EGS semi automatic; if it has a P position as well, then it is 'full' automatic. Almost certain yours is semi auto. There are many designations given to this box, but the later full auto is usually referred to as EAT 6 (or 8).

Do you know when looking for a driveshaft would this gearbox be considered manual or auto?

Is there a way to check for sure what box it is based on VIN.

Having a real headache getting parts 😢

When I look on the parts site I can see options under automatic for AT6 & AM6 2.

Means nothing to me, my mechanic asked me to check to see if I could get parts online as his supplier can’t get these apparently

We can help if you need an original genuine part number, part diagram or vehicle factory build sheet and can't already find the info you need on the Forum. For this service, we do ask for a membership upgrade for official parts data as we are in turn charged for this. It will cover you for future part number requests for up to 3 years, so excellent value.

If interested, links are below, then provide your vehicle's VIN in full, which will be masked automatically when you submit your post.
