C2 1.4 Furio Hub assembly.

Unread post by garygary07 »

Hey guys, I need to get a nsf hub assembly and just need to know if someone can tell me if it is only 1.4 furio assemblies that are compatible or are any other C2 hub assemblies the same such as a 1.1, VTR or VTS.
Many thanks!!

The front brakes were; ABS, NON ABS, Vented or non vented rotors. So stay away from the 1.6 they were vented so the wheel hub probably has a different off-set. So that leaves the 1.1 and 1.4.
So did the furio have ABS? I don't think so. There will be a hole in an ABS knuckle, it would work but it would allow water and mud onto the face of the bearing (not recommended). If it (the knuckle you are buying) came with an ABS sensor and you don't need it..just cut the wire off. Leave the sensor in the hole.

Cheers for the info ozvtr! Pretty sure my car doesn't have abs. There's no light for it. My local dismantler, scrap yard is getting a 1.1 in at the Start of next week. Just wonder if it will be compatible as don't want to get an assembly that is useless to me. My wee car is 2004 but engine, gearbox and clutch are 100% and starts on the button every time but needs a good bit of work to front end and want to get it all sorted including hub assembly pretty soon. Just no point getting it sorted without the assembly. Obviously I could get the hub sorted on it's own but trying to spend as little as I can. You know what it's like! Pretty broke lol.

I have a 1.6 C2 VTR with the sensodrive gearbox and three 1.4 C3s with AL4 autos. The C3s are a long story. :rofl2:
Everyone scoffs at the sensodrive but if you learn its idiosyncratic ways it works quite well. Its Achilles heel is the clutch actuator!
The little 1.4 TU3JP engine is a treat. Very easy to work on. Miles of space in the engine bay. Best mate to the 1.4 is a manual gearbox! If the head gasket is weeping oil from just above the alternator it needs to be changed before you get coolant in the oil or oil in the coolant! If you change a the head gasket, take the head to a machine shop and have it checked for flatness.
The design of the upper front strut mounts is @#$%. If you get knocking in the front end suspension it's probably one of them. Change them both.
An OBDII scanner works fine BUT ONLY FOR ENGINE FAULTS! I recommend you get one, they are very cheap, but provide a lot of useful information...even for an engine running well!

Has the bearing gone in the knuckle?
