Berlingo wiring diagrams

Unread post by Skylinenuttergtr »

Hi. I'm new here. Can anyone help me with wiring diagrams for a 2.0hdi berlingo engine? Especially the tps and ecu please? I am putting this engine into my Talbot express motorhome. The engine is fitted. I just need to wire it up and I'm finding it hard to find the wiring diagrams. Any help would be much appreciated. Interesting project, do you have an unlocked ECU? How are you going to get round the lack of CAN connection for instruments etc?

I'm getting the ecu unlocked plus egr delete and stage 2 by hdi tuning. What's the CAN connection? I know very little about French cars tbh as I've steered clear of them my whole life! Please don't shoot me for saying this but I've never gelled with the way they put them together tbh. I hate torqx bits for example.! Good engines though.
I've successfully mated the talbot gearbox to the engine so all gear linkages and driveshafts are standard etc. Flywheel pickup is grafted onto talbot gearbox.
So what's the can connection? I'm a bit worried now!

I was hoping to not use the instruments at all. Just wire up the engine loom.

The CAN connection (the thicker wires on the engine ECU in the diagram) is a data bus that passes information & controls around the car. The ECU & the BSI are the 'ends of line' of the CAN (under bonnet side) & im not sure how the ECU will react to not seeing a BSI connected to it. Under normal circumstances the engine wouldn't start without the BSI as the immobiliser functionality is built into the BSI however you have an unlocked ECU.
Have you considered input from the brake & clutch switches? The ECU uses both of these inputs.
What about diagnostics/fault finding? Are you going to integrate a diagnostic socket? How will the ECU let you know there is a fault? There is no output on the ECU for an engine management warning lamp, this is transmitted to the instrument panel via the CAN & VAN.

The TPS is 1261 in the diagram

I was going to install the diagnostic socket somehow. I still have the whole loom, bsi, fuse boxes etc. I don't have the brake and clutch switches as they have been scrapped with the car but may be able to get them back
