Engine runs for 2 seconds an then it shuts off.

Hi,
I have a problem with my C5 x7 2.0 136km hdi engine. Sometimes it starts-up for 1-2 seconds and then shuts off. If you keep the starter on after the initial start-up then it runs after keeping it on hi rpms for some time. Then for 3 months nothing like this happens until one day out of nowhere it has it's problem again. If you manage to make it run again problem disappears for some months again. It is not fuel related - the fuel lines and everything aren't leaking, fuel injectors are good and diesel was filled up on exactly same gas station. I'm at a loss of ideas. I love this car an I don't want to sell it but it starts to overwhelm me and my wallet. The immobilizer is also good and working. Please help me out.

Can you get access to a diagnostic fault code reader? It might show a fault code that can help to find the cause.

It's possible the tds sensor (flywheel sensor)
