Hi,
my display at RT4 start dying (Peugeot 308 SW T7 2009).
During drive display will lose partial picture on display.
I am pretty sure it is issue with cable since it will get fix if I tap it few times on top of screens (or get worse sometime until it get better).
Local dealer ask 150 euro for fixing it.
So I wonder if there is any Android replacement that will replace pop-up screen?
I only find Android replacement that will take "two radio compartment" which I find very ugly and unpractical. Like this:
When I am looking for replacement, how should I google for it? What are "compatibility markings"?
Or,
third option: can I buy some newer navigation like RT6? Will it work in my car?
Thanks!

OK, after research I found that best solution would be to replace my navigation with RNEG2 - I will get latest maps and I will get full Bluetooth support.
Now I have another question: can I simple replace my navigation with RNEG2? I read that I need to put my VIN number in RNEG2...?

Re: RT4 dying display. Replacement with Android?
I can't provide you with a part number because we really only support originally fitted equipment - the system will not provide parts for equipment that was not originally fitted, and you had an RT4 not an RT6. Further, there are so many versions of RT6 hardware that are designed for the specific electrical architecture of the vehicles they were fitted to, so you can't just fit any RT6 and expect it to work.
Yes, you would need to have it VIN coded and not only that, it would need configuring to match the equipment and options on your car, like type of parking assistance, camera (not all RT6 support this), Equaliser Amp, Type of Navigation Area, Telematics, Correct Display (Peugeots have retracting display units, Citroen do not, so another issue if you got an RT6 from a Citroen), then there is the actual display type - you would have to change that too as RT6 is not compatible with the RT4 display if I remember correctly.

OK, I found on sale this RT6 from Peugeot 308 (RT6 date is 2013/06/01):
Price is 200e. with display. Seller agree to install it in my car.
So what I should check after installation?
- navigation
- parking sensor (front+rear)
- radio fm
- Equaliser Amp
- front/rear, left/right balance
How to check "Telematics"?

Re: RT4 dying display. Replacement with Android?
Be warned that the RT6 ECU can be locked out (it goes into secure mode), meaning that even Diagbox may not be able to configure it in offline mode, without a dealer login or online purchase of tokens from PSA and use din connected mode. These ECUs are protected. Even owners who have an original RT6 and who have upgraded the firmware can find themselves with the unit factory rest back and can't use it, with missing features and options.

Thank you.
So seller can brick his RT6 in worst case scenario?

If he's offering to install it then it's down to him - you just need to make sure everything is working properly.

I just realize, after buying RNEG2, that there are bunch of CarPlay modules that will use EXISTING screen in my Peugeot 308!

Interesting. I'm not that worried about the podcasts rubbish (unless that was what was on the phone) but it would be nice to have the online maps on my phone displaying on a larger screen. I'm unsure whether it merely supports an existing rear view camera or allows the fitment of an aftermarket one.
I would have to de-install the CD player in our 308 to find enough space though.
