Boxer proxy aligment

Unread post by Jigzy »

So I have diagbox and have multiple airbag ecu’s listed. Have tried a guy to do remote coding via the psa network and he also gets instrument cluster and airbag ecu failed to align and advised to try the foat version to see if the cluster will realign I cannot get it coded offline or online via diagbox v7.57 &9.58 anybody got any ideas?
Turns out the cluster is from a different van thanks

All this depends on exactly what you have. If it's a FIAT engine / variant then it may need a special module to communicate with the vehicle called a S1279 Module. You also haven't provided basic details like what year the vehicle is as this will make a difference as to what you can and can't do and what version of Diagbox you require.

Be aware that you generally can't configure these offline if a later vehicle and also be wary that attaching a different instrument cluster, once connected, will assume the higher mileage of either the donor vehicle or yours (whichever is higher)...

Hi the van is a 2.2 2013 boxer euro 5 so offline coding should be an option?
The bcm module is code SID208 fault code is B10AA (Fault in alignment of the configurations between Ecu’s)
U1726 (no communication with airbag ECU)

The cluster was from a van with a lower milage which has been corrected to show the correct milage of the van this was done before I got the van.

Thanks

OK, so you should be able to telecode offline but if you can provide your VIN I'll have a better idea of what you have./ Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Thanks vin is VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

When you run global scan at the first page i get the boxer has several airbag ecu part numbers displayed independently during the global test then when you go to realign it says instrument panel and airbag ecu are to be aligned go to the next step i get instrument panel ECU Failed then continue through the process and get airbag ecu has failed then telematics shows as configured ok.

Ok, so you actually have the Ford 2.2 HDi 130 Puma C Engine fitted. So this will likely need the additional module I mentioned to talk to the vehicle properly:
s1279.PNG
I can't advise on these FIAT / FORD vans, but it's generally accepted that you need the interface for them to talk to all the ECUs.

Fiat refer to their ECU configuration as a Proxy Alignment IIRC, so this doesn't sound right if this is a Ford, which makes me think it's not got the correct vehicle / engine management system selected.

Wheeler has experience with these commercial vans, so may chip in if he's picked this up.

Commercial vans are not my area of expertise, but this may depend on the VCI hardware you are using too. If using Lexia / Diagbox. the VCI clone may not be a full chip version, so missing some hardware components that often prevent comms with ABS and some other ECUs.

No problem defo full chip as i can get into abs module and other modules i just have no communication with instrument panel so i’m guessing that is due to the fact it isn't coded to the van cheers

We can help if you need an original genuine part number, part diagram or vehicle factory build sheet and can't already find the info you need on the Forum. For this service, we do ask for a membership upgrade for official parts data as we are in turn charged for this. It will cover you for future part number requests for up to 3 years, so excellent value.

If interested, links are below, then provide your vehicle's VIN in full, which will be masked automatically when you submit your post.

Is it the Airbag ECU you require, if so, see below, if not, please which airbag unit.

Ok, so for the Airbag Control unit, there are quite a few (even with your VIN) that could of been fitted, they have listed the marking on the existing unit as a guide - but of course this assumes you have the old one to find this!
Jigsy Airbag.PNG
(1) Airbag Control Unit

(Side Airbag Unit) Marking: 1367537080, Part: 1608040480, £459.42
Marking: 1370978080, Part: 1608428080, £453.11
Marking: 1375109080, Part: 1681055980, £464.14
Marking: 1375111080, Part: 1681055780, £428.93
Marking: 1393755080, Part: 1681055580, £319.85
Marking: 1393757080, Part: 1681055980, £464.14
Marking: 1393840080, Part: 1681055980, £464.14
Marking: 1394325080, Part: 1681055680, £474.20

Instrument Panel is more of the same for some reason - I'll add this shortly here:
jigsy cluster.PNG
(1) Dashboard Instrument Panel

Marking: 1362895080 or 1364959080, part: 6103NV, £1277.98
Marking: 1371846080, Part: 1623803480, £1274.69
Marking: 1394438080, Part: 1659574380, £1084.16
Marking: 1395353080, Part: 1681482480, £1104.29
Marking: 46858314, Part: 1681482480, £1104.29

The following part numbers are also listed, but have no marking associated:
1694732080, £308.51
1694732180, £308.51
1694732280, £238.82
1694732380, £238.82

Totally crazy why they haven't listed the exact one against the VIN - like just about every other vehicle.
