DS3 1.6 HDi P0100

Unread post by BecauseItsFrench »

Hey everyone, was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this... 2011 DS3 1.6 HDi 110BHP, 118K

I seem to keep having an "Engine Fault: Repair Needed" message come on the dash whenever I accelerate hard which puts the car into limp mode. Plugging it in gives me the code "P0100: Quantity of air above the maximum threshold."

That message makes it sound like it's getting more air than what it's supposed to be getting. I imagine it's probably been getting the same amount of air for a while so I'm not sure why it's now decided it's getting too much (providing I'm understanding it correctly  )

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks :-D

There's no 110 version of the DS3 - best to pop your VIN up so I can relate the code to the correct engine management system. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Sorry for the delay, I've been in hospital and only just got discharged. I'm unable to provide the VIN at present as I won't have the car with me for around another week. I am a little confused as to why you say there's no 110 version? From what I understand there's 4 different variations for the 1.6 diesel (90, 110, 115 and 120)

If you could elaborate on what you mean by there being no 110 version that'd be great, thanksl :-D

1.6 HDI variants for the DS3:

DV6C (Euro 5): 115
DF6FD (Euro 6): 100
DV6FC: 115
DV6FC (Euro 6): 120
DV6DTED (Euro 5): 93
DV6DTEDM (Euro 5): 93
DF6FE (Euro 6): 75
DV6ATED4: 92

There may be some confusion over the designations / and power output which may be why.

It's why we ask for the VIN so I can relate the fault code to the specific engine management system & Engine, as they have different triggering reasons and parameters and other factors like suspect areas depending on the exact variant.
