I've a Peugeot 308 2016 1.2 puretech 130.
I've had an issue where the engine management light illuminates then goes out as normal when starting BUT the engine fault notification appears on the LCD screen followed by the SERVICE light illuminating.
This morning I had someone over to carry out diagnostics with the fault code P3060 66 appearing.
Description is
P3060 66 High number of self ignition before spark (rumble) over the last few miles travelled.
I've read a bit of related information on the Internet but there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer/fault finding process as I think people have either had it sorted or sold the cars and not followed up on their posts. Engine runs well.
Carbon clean? Spark plugs? Compression test?
There is a TSB relating to this too?
Also, I want to remove the sump and clear out if clogged as much debris assuming there is any as preventative maintenance. What are the torque settings for the sump bolts/couple of nuts? And what specific sealant is used?
Sorry for all of the questions!

Hi, and
to the Forum. You don't need to apologise for all of the questions, as that is the main reason this Forum exists (to help people fix problems with their French cars!). However, I cannot help you, as I have no experience of the Peugeots (but if you wait a while somebody should be able to advise you).

I saw this after the guy left who was doing the diagnostics for me! Not sure if it will work though

Re: Peugeot 308 1.2 fault code P3060 66
I had the same problem with my 2018 308 with 43k miles on the clock.
I can't be certain of the cause, but it started 10 miles after filling up with cheap supermarket petrol.
The message "Engine fault - repair needed" appeared and the SERVICE lamp in the speedo lit up, and this subsequently happened every time I started the car afterwards.
I also had the impression that the car had lost a bit of power (needed to sometimes change from 6th down to 5th on motorway inclines).
My cheap eBay OBD2 gadget didn't detect any fault codes, but a local garage found the P3060 code along with a couple of related others.
The garage suggested a de-coke and clean would be the recommended course of action, but also couldn't guarantee that would resolve the situation.
I then borrowed a more sophisticated OTOFIX OBD2 tool which found the fault codes.
Deleting the codes had no effect, as the same errors appeared instantly.
I then found the following two options under .... Special functions --> Service action --> Operations on faults related to self-ignition before spark (rumble)
1. "Reset number of self-ignitions before spark (rumble)"
and
2. "Reset of engine torque limitation after self-ignition before spark (rumble)"
Since executing these steps, I have driven a few hundred miles and the error messages have not reappeared and all 130 mighty horses are available under my right foot.
