Renault Laguna Mk2 Hatchback Automatic Diesel 2.2 on a 56 plate
About 15 months ago my cars EML and spanner came on. Had a mobile mechanic come out and diagnosed, who then replaced the EGR and glow plugs. Still didnt get rid of the EML / Spanner light, and the car went into limp mode
Then he said it was the Mass Air Flow Unit and he gave me a price, saying he'd do it at cost. I said Id need to get the money together and Id have it done later, which was my way of getting rid of him and using Dr Google.
We got a tin of spray for the MAF, and it clear it for a while but went back into limp mode. I disconnected the cable to the MAF and the car ran.
I rung up the four big part suppliers, and the prices proved the mechanic was telling porkies at doing the job at cost. He was over charging me. I ended up buying a generic part and fitting myself after watching a youtube video. The car runs but the EML/Spanner lights are still on.
I had another mechanic bring his ODB2 and try to clear the error codes which didnt work. Ive now purchased a MAF which is manufactorer approved.
The car went through its MOT Sep 2022, the garage failed the car as the EML/Spanner were on with the dash saying Check Emissions / Check Injection, so they checked and found it was ok so passed the car.
The car went for its MOT again with another company this year, and they saw the EML/Spanner lights on and failed straight away.
Today I had an ODB2 scanner arrive and I checked what codes there are.
P0100 Mass or volume airflow a circuit
P0711 Trasmission fluid temp sensor a circuit range / performance
C3900 Manufactorer control
The first one I believe will be ok if i fit the new MAF. But could anyone give me help on the 2nd and 3rd pls.
