walk me through? abs ecu replacement

hi.

I have just installed diagbox.. finally got it working.. v7.58

could somebody please walk me through the steps for coding my ABS ECU into my C3..

I'm completely new to this and worried I may do something disappointingly tragic with such power..


I have no data from the original as it was half full of water at the point of destruction..

I have a replacement ABS ECU module which I have fitted on to the old pump so no need for bleeding..

The earlier version of lexia informed me it's "working but needs coding" or something similar.. and when fitted the power steering fault disappeared so I am quite confident it's the correct part..

i can't find any videos or teachings on how to use it.

(would anyone know a good place to learn? I have a lot of faults on my C5 to fix too.)

Theres not much to it really.
If doing it in Lexia (rather than diagbox) carry out a global test, select ABS, there should then be a sub menu of programming. Once in this menu there are only a few options to configure on the ABS Engine & gearbox type etc. Highlight & select each option and it will give you the choices, once each choice is set there is a save configuration button you click to set it. Dont worry if you set something wrong, you can go in & change it again as many times a s you want. After this go in & read & erase any fault codes.

seems lexia can't see my abs after replacement.. no dialogue.

there's no 'configuration' or 'programming' option.

You probably have one of the many bad China VCIs - especially with the C5, not all ECUs are recognised.
