C5 x7 Bluetooth

Post by Dunkah »

Hi all, can anyone shed some light on my Bluetooth connectivity?
I have a 2008 x7 with navi and screen, on the screen there is a phone icon and it displays some call information so I assume a previous owner once had a phone connected to it but I cannot figure out how to delete previous connections or make a new connection.
I’m not really too fussed about making or answering calls though the car but I was hoping to listen to music from my phone through the car stereo, after a little look at other posts on the forum it seems that may not be possible anyway.
Any information at all on this would be much appreciated.
Many thanks
Duncan

I believe that version only supports calls via bluetooth. To connect, just enter your BT settings on the phone and you should see Citroen there. Make sure you give contact first, or start the car. After that it'll connect automatically.

You have an RT4 and this system doesn't support Bluetooth at all.

The RT4 uses an internal GSM phone, which is why you have the vertical SIM card slot next to the right dial on the unit. You need to purchase a SIM card for phone operation and then you can use the telephone to make and receive calls. It is also used for the emergency call (SOS) on the other side in red. Further the airbags are linked to the RT4, and in an emergency where the airbags are deployed it can activate the emergency call and assist with geolocation for the emergency services.

You should see a small round indent somewhere on the SIM slot that a cocktail stick can push in gently to release the SIM holder.

A Pay as You Go SIM will do.

As for music, this system will read and play CDs and also MP3 files on a CD, so if you have the inclination, just create an MP3 CD and burn your MP3 onto the CD - I think at you can fit about 100-150 MP3s on there.

Thanks for the swift response guys.
So I don’t have any Bluetooth at all then. Better luck next time I guess.
Thanks again though
