What correct grade of oil ?

Hi. I have a 2012 Scenic 1.6 petrol, and in view of fault code P0011, I want to flush the engine oil and refill with the correct grade oil. Problem is, even in the owners handbook and service book,’or even in the engine bay and online I cannot find the specified oil. Can anyone help? Please, no guessing, I can guess.

Not much help but I read with regards to the 1.2 engine that using a flushing oil causes warranty problems. I realise your car is out of warranty and is a different engine but suspect the use of flushing oil is not recommended.

Check either an Owner's Handbook, or look up on one of the major oil company websites - eg Total, BP/Castrol..., where all makes and models should be listed. Owner's handbooks don't provide too much useful detail, but the correct grade of oil is normally one of the bits of info that is included!

Flushing oil should not be needed, as modern oils are actively detergent.

Renault and ELF went hand in hand, like PSA and Total.
Although they are combined now, the ELF site may be a better match.
