Flashing mileage with no Bluetooth

Hi all
I’m hoping someone can help out
I have a Citroen Nemo 2014 plate and suddenly my Bluetooth and usb point do not work and the mileage on the dash is flashing
Any ideas what I need to do?

Hi and welcome.

Basically, have your wallet ready.

This is a known issue on these vehicles - they are essentially a Fiat design and use Fiat telematics units. The hands free module has known issues - specifically a fault caused by lack of communication with the telematics module. You will probably have Fault codes B10AA and U1733 stored in the BSI and the tell-tale flashing mileage indicator.

A BSI reset (BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure) may help, but if this fails to correct it then the only solution is a replacement of the handsfree module. They know about this problem and it is documented in a Technical Services Bulletin.

Unfortunately these cost anything from £380-£500 to do.

It's not a guaranteed fix, but can eliminate any ECU issues on the vehicle networks.

The same problem exists on some of the larger commercial vehicles like the Relay - with FIAT telematics units. They're useless to be honest. So you'll have to get a new unit and get it fitted and coded or do without it - but the mileage flashing issue will be annoying.

When you do, tell them you are aware of a Technical Service Bulletin for this issue and quote the TSB reference:

d5bw010nq0

Those are number zeros, not letter Os.

That is the Citroen dealer technical bulletin that concerns this problem that they are aware of.

If they were to run a diagnostic on the car and if the following 2 fault codes (B10AA and U1733) are logged in the BSI, along with the flashing odometer, then it means the hands free kit is knackered and not communicating. The technical bulletin may advise a "proxy alignment" and failing that, replacement of the unit. I think a Proxy alignment is FIAT speak for some reset or test of the unit.

The issue is as in my post - it is a known fault with the Bluetooth units and more than likely will need replacing.

The telephone interface module does look similar to that - but it must be the correct part number to be compatible (hardware / software) and may need configuring with a suitable diagnostic tool (like Diagbox with an S1279 interface) if you are thinking of replacing it yourself - but I can't confirm this.
