No voice recognition on 13 plate C5 Exclusive

This is my first post.
I’ve just bought a C5 Exclusive, I can play songs from my iPhone through the car speakers and I can use the phone from the radio controls all names and numbers are loaded. I cannot get the voice recognition to work off the stalk. The voice recognition from Siri will pick the name and phone the number, it recognizes this.
Any help appreciated

The left hand stalk voice recognition is not for Siri. It is only used for the voice command functionality with certain telematics systems like the 3D Navidrive system that accepts voice commands for certain features of the vehicles telematic and audio functions. It is also used for repeating the last voice instruction given by the Sat. Nav if you have a telematics system fitted.

The year of C5 you have does not support Apple Car Play. Siri will continue to respond to your voice commands in the car all the time it is powered by a charging cable.

Thanks for the quick reply. I hear what you are saying. My Siri will work when not plugged in to the USB and the phone will repeat the number to me, that’s why I thought it had voice recognition on the radio/satnav
