Misty Mornings with 2020 vision

Post by mickthemaverick »

A new thread for a collection of views of our new decade, unlike POTD this thread is for pictorial views, ideally from dawn or dusk!!

To start off just before sunrise in Mallorca to bring in the new year:
Own work
Own work
and as the sun rose: (not the greatest shot but you get the idea :-D )
Own work
Own work
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Its plainly obvious to me with my current photographic skills and equipment, that some absolutely stunning and dramatic sunset and sunrise scenes rarely translate what I see with my eyes to the photographic image.

Yesterday on the drive home there was a vivid and beautiful orange cloak as background to the silhouette of the hills. It was the type of scene a decent photographer with a tripod and a few lenses could have come up with some brilliant pictures.

The other day while parked up charging at the sort of twilight time at Northumberlandia, my photographic eye caught the shilouette of the little trees at the end of the car park with the random patterns of their branches emphasised with a bit of an orange glow behind. Also with the approach flight path for newcastle airport being right there you get a fair stream of with low flying aircraft with their lights on sweeping past.

There's the picture....a silhouetted tree, the orange glow in the background and an atmospheric low flying aircraft with its lights on making its approach to land in the frame too.
spot the aircraft!
spot the aircraft!

Bit disappointed with this, some accidental setting on the camera made it much duller than it was
